Nan Xiang Express - Williamsburg, NY — Restaurant in New York

My husband and I were in the area for a quick overnight stay because we didn't make our connecting flight home due to major delays. But because of that, we checked into our hotel nearby closer to midnight on a Sunday and everything was closing or already closed. My husband fortunately found this spot and it was so worth it. I wanted some comfort food and this hit the spot. We ordered on the digital pad as soon as we walked in, it was very convenient, and the food came out steadily and pretty quick. We got the hot and sour soup, a few dumplings, wonton soup, bok choy, and scallion noodles. It was so good, I had to order a pork fried rice to go so I could have it for my flight the next day! Also, they updated their closing time to 2am, which I don't think is reflected yet on Google Maps. It was a godsend!

This is a great dumpling shop with about 6 4-top tables and a small but very nice back outdoor area with some seating. You can order directly from staff or via a touch kiosk. We got most of their menu when we went. The hot and sour soup is good on the sour side with a nice amount of acid but could be a bit more spicy and have more mushrooms in it. The hot sauce on the table is Szechuan pepper based and has a fair amount of mala so be warned. The scallion pancake was pretty good and comes with hoisin sauce to dip it in, came out super hot and crispy but could have used a few more scallions to better hit on the onion flavor.

Finally the soup dumplings: we tried every type and all were amazing, they come out steaming and hit but not so hit you can not actually eat them right away, great flavor on the pork, beef and pork+crab. Overall this was an amazing little...

Good food, but when getting take out, they make you actively refuse tipping three separate times. When you pay you have to find the button to refuse the suggested %age, then you will have to confirm you won't tip, and then again when you sign you have to write a zero. In addition to all of this, there is a big box with two big stickers asking for tips. All of this is a little aggressive and inappropriate when you're just there getting take out but all this is happening prior to you receiving any food.

this place is a real mess. the prices on the menu wont match the prices you pay online for take out, and the product wont match the menu. for example, vegetable pork and cabbage dumplings (8pcs) are listed as 8.95 on the menu at the door, 10.95 online, and you will end up receiving 6pcs and pay 7.95: a cheeky price increase of 20%. basically, check...
