Pure Barre — Local services in New York

I did an introductory class and am compelled to write about what an awesome experience it was, not just the exercise but the care and attention the staff here provided me. One year ago I had a terrible slipped disc that resulted in some paralysis in my foot, and had to have urgent surgery. It has been a long recovery with multiple set backs and I have been too nervous to try any exercise other than PT. Katie and Allie were so welcoming and listened to my unique situation and helped get me acquainted with how I should approach the class. Carolyn was the instructor and she was an absolute pro. She was not only kind and considerate, but knew exactly how to advise me. No one made me feel awkward or like a nuisance, but rather encouraging. Love Pure Barre and this studio is great. I originally signed up for my membership here and with the unlimited you can go to various studios across the city. Very convenient and you get to do various classes and instructors.

This location has three changing rooms and two restrooms with a huge lobby/waiting area. The instructors are all so friendly and helpful when you haven't tried a class before.

Just had the worst experience not only with the business itself but with this location. Class started at 6:30 and I got there at 6:30 but was turned away because the teacher had already started class. I traveled all the way from work and was experiencing some train delays but I called to let them know that I will be there 6:30 but was given a snotty attitude that they couldn’t make a accommodation. This facility doesn’t care about the costumers they only care about money. I honestly didn’t even care for the workout most of the teachers are out of shape and can’t really show you the full workout so you’re left confused. I took pure barre 3 weeks straight and...
