I posted a review a few weeks ago about how Blink recently emerged from bankruptcy with new owners and absolutely atrocious customer service. Developments since then confirm how bad things are.
My wife cancelled her account but then asked to uncancel it at the front desk, and they said ok, don't worry about it. Turns out they neglected to tell her that she had to fill out a form, and Blink is not taking responsibility for its employees' mistake. Management at the club admits it was a "coachable moment" for the front desk but is powerless to help.
Corporate was demanding a reinstatement fee from my wife for her to access the club because it wouldn't stand behind what its employees said. To add insult to injury, it had been over two weeks since this happened and customer service was (1) only available by email and (2) refused to address the issue.
Somebody responded to my review, saying the club would contact me. It did, after I emailed that I was expecting a call. The proposal from Blink was to uncancel the account starting May 1, with us just pretending that Blink did not exclude my wife for over a month because of its mistake. It refused to even allow her access for the last few days of April without her paying for the full month. Basically, the offer was that Blink would pretend it didn't make a mistake, do nothing to make what it did better, and just let things carry on as if nothing had happened if we were also willing to play make-believe. If that's business-as-usual at Blink, then neither my wife nor I are interested in returning.
Mistakes should be fixed with some level of humility, not with the "our fault, your problem" attitude Blink's post-bankruptcy management seemingly brings to the table. Stay away. It's not...
Read moreI recently went to one of your blink fitness gym location at 252 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11201 on August 4, 2025 at approximately 1220 pm and I was racial discriminated and disrespected by one of your gym employees because I spoke Arabic on the phone but I wasn't loud and I had an middle eastern Arab features with an bread. The employee I'm referring to from that location is heavy set, braids, 5' 10, black, she wore glasses, and did not wear a name tag. She didn't announce herself who she is and what's her position in the gym when she confronted me. I was told after I was in the gym for an hour and 30 minutes that I couldn't enter the gym with my jeans on which it wasn't Jeans it a sweatpants that had a look of a jeans and color. I tried to explain to her but she didn't allow me to since I was cut off and she wanted to move on continuing what she was doing which was sit down in the back and do nothing. When I told her there's other people at this moment who are wearing long jeans and shorts jeans in the gym and her response was I don't see anyone else besides you which was a lie. She didn't even go look she just went back to the office and sat down to relax. The reason she also came up to me was some gym member didn't like I had the Palestine sticker on my phone and he complained and wanted me out. If this horrible issue isn't taking care of i will be going to the news and cancel my membership and let the community know about this. Someone called me from the 929 number and left me a voice mail. I called that person back and they never got back to me....
Read moreThis is the best gym I have found in the city for the price. I pay 15$ a month and this is the first place I go to during the work week. In the morning there is hardly anyone there and you have free range of the gym. The gym is impeccably clean and the staff seem to know what they are doing for the most part. My only complaint is that I saw some weights that were out of order and the size of the gym was kinda small. But it is still head and shoulders ahead of of other gyms in the city with that price range.
Like all gyms, it is about the people. While the staff is friendly, the people in the gym are thieves and will steal anything they can. I left my stuff in my locker while I showered and had my ear phones stolen. While this is not Blink Fitness's fault, I took a star off because of the low life class of people that go to this gym and steal things.
UPDATE: The manager of the gym was kind enough to give me one of the ear phones that they sell in their pro shop. This was very kind and considerate of them which shows that the manager and the employees go out of their way to make this a good gym and I can't thank them enough. There are issues (See below) that are keeping this gym from being outstanding through.
After showing up at 5am on a Friday to get a work out in I noticed the place was locked. One of the group members who was waiting with me told me that this is a common thing. For me, I have to wake up at 3:30 in the morning to be here by 5am. So why is it that there is no one available to unlock the doors frequently at 5 in...
