Quest Diagnostics — Local services in New York

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I've visited other Quest Labs and the staff is usually rude, but I've never experienced anything like this before. The person that saw me was so unbelievably rude and bad mannered. I read reviews of people saying that they felt like walking out, that was me. Not once did I hear a hello or how are you? The whole entire time I was there was a horrible experience and I'm not exaggerating. I couldn't believe that an adult could behave that way. No hello or how are you? She was huffing and puffing, rolling her eyes and when she realized that my doctor didn't add some number to my script, she was even more rude. How is that MY fault??? I had waited 45 minutes to see someone and she didn't even have the decency to explain why she couldn't do it without it or if I was going to be able to get my bloodwork done. She walked away. I had to stand outside and wait for someone else to ask what I should I do. Listen, I get it you probably don't get paid well and have to deal with jerks all day long. But something is wrong with you if you are that miserable. Please consider a different line of work, if you are not happy there. You are expected to be professional, no matter what. Please Quest Labs do something about the people you are hiring. How can most of them be so...

I went to quest lab after I a visit from a shady doctor. This is two hours of my life that I can’t get back. When I walked in, I told them that I will be paying for the test out of pocket. This is where all the problem started. When their customers pay out of pocket, they apparently have a different system to process the payment. On that day their system was offline and couldn’t process any payments. They offered me two options. 1) come back another day when their system is working again (I don’t want to since I left work early to do these test) 2) Go to their website and buy the test online and then they’ll do the test. I tried to do the second option and some of the test I needed were not offered on the website. I had to wait half an hour before I can get any sort of help about a test I’m trying to buy online. Not only that the lady who helped me was incredibly rude and very condescending. After a while she couldn’t even find the test herself! After 10 minutes of this her shift seemed to end and she said somebody else will come out and help me. Wasting an hour for nothing was enough for me so I ended up leaving the quest lab without any test done that day. STAY AWAY...

Absolutely the WORST clinic during the covid crisis. Even now, in Sept 2021 when testing is super important for us to detect the spread of the delta variant, Quest will schedule you for an exam, you show up to a room full of angry people who have been waiting for hours, and then once you are called, tell you that you do not have a proper "order" & therefore they cannot perform the PCR test for you even though you provided all the insurance info + got a proper appt -- why? bc they want your doctor to ORDER a test for you, i.e. so they can charge + both sides profit from what's already been funded by the govt down to the local level for Covid19 testing. This org should be defunded & absolutely removed from providing medical care because they obviously care more about $$ which is already funded by the govt. Go to labq (plenty of mobile testing sites available in NYC) that will test you for free & test results within 10 hours. I hope govt officials are reading this so they can start investigating why Quest is turning down folks that want to get tested for Covid to stop the spread of this virus & yet are given the run-around.
