R&K Theme Photography Inc — Local services in New York

R&K was the planner for my banquet hall wedding on Thanksgiving day. They were responsible for gathering the team that would help me plan my wedding day. The team was made up of decor, DJ/MC, photographer, hair and makeup. At first, it was great! My representative, Moonlight, was super helpful and was on top of everything. We picked out beautiful wedding dresses and tea ceremony outfits. Things were going really well!

4 months before the wedding, things started to slowly change. The costs of certain items kept changing. Moonlight claimed it was due to overlooking certain details. I told her that people make mistakes and that it was alright as long as there was no more mistakes, if she could help it.

2 months before the wedding, we had a misunderstanding on the remaining balance of the wedding. I was calculating one number and she was calculating a number $300 less than me. Not that I was complaining, but I didn't want to underpay the company. I started to worry. The worry I had 2 months ago was small but it definitely grew. So I decided to check Moonlight's work, even though that's not my job! That's when I realized that the stage and the steps in the venue were not covered. To be honest, at that point, I didn't feel like a priority. This was not her first, second or third mistake; we were wayyy past that now. I was having serious trust issues, ONE MONTH before the wedding!! My fiance had to step in and we had a big meeting with Moonlight, a translator, and the boss.

After that meeting, we sorted out a lot of the misunderstandings. I spoke about my frustrations and I wondered if I could trust the company to do their job. Fast forward to day of the wedding.

Things that went well: Rina did an AMAZING job on my makeup. She transformed me into a princess. It was breathtaking! Highly recommend her! Photographer was FANTASTIC! So sweet and photogenic! MC calmed my nerves and did a FLAWLESS job! DJ had great songs that really set the mood! Post production department made a beautiful scroll that we were able to take home and the photos from the wedding were gorgeous! Decor team did an amazing job with my vision of the venue. The arch, the aisle flowers, the lights, the stage presentation was beautiful!

Things that could have gone better: the Decor team hung up a name on the stage that was not my husband to be. Thank god it was fixed before guests noticed.

Overall, I just want to say that I understand that Thanksgiving day is popular for weddings. I understand the stress Moonlight must have been under. However, I did expect more professionalism than I got. Maybe I'm too type-A but I believe I gave Moonlight a lot of space to move and I do wish, in retrospect, I reined it in a bit. I should have said something earlier but I wasn't trying to step on anyone's toes. At the end of the day, R&K did a beautiful job and I am happy about that. Hopefully Moonlight can see this as a learning experience and be better for clients...

Disappointing Customer Service and Unpleasant Attitude

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with R&K Theme Photography, and I must say it was incredibly disappointing. The customer service I received was nothing short of abysmal, leaving me regretting my decision to engage with this company.

From the start, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The staff's attitude was unprofessional and dismissive, making it clear that my concerns were not a priority for them. It's disheartening to encounter such a lack of courtesy and respect, especially when dealing with a service that is meant to capture and preserve special moments.

Communication was a constant struggle, with delayed responses and a general lack of transparency. It felt like pulling teeth to get any information or updates on my order. The indifference displayed by the team at R&K Theme Photography only added to the frustration of the entire experience.

Moreover, their attitude during photo sessions was far from accommodating. Instead of creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere, the photographers seemed disinterested and impatient. It's baffling how a company in the business of capturing joyous occasions could exude such negativity.

Our photo shoot experience in New York was absolutely amazing! 📸 We came all the way from North Carolina for this shoot, and it was 100% worth it. From 10 in the morning for makeup and styling until almost 11 at night, the whole team stayed professional and patient the entire time. The photographer was incredible — not only did he capture all the poses we wanted, but he also suggested many extra ones that turned out great. We had three outfits and four different indoor backgrounds, and every setup felt unique. The lighting was so perfect that even phone pictures looked stunning! ✨ The makeup artist Rina was truly a magician — she completely transformed me with such a flawless look. The outfits and accessories were beautiful and elegant. The assistant also filmed lots of fun behind-the-scenes clips for us, which we could share with family and friends while waiting for the final photos.
