Asian Jewels did it again! At the last minute my family decided to have lunch after my aunt's burial at Cypress Hills Cemetery. There were 14 of us and we called while literally driving out of the cemetery and told them we would be there in 20 minutes.
The eta was 12:15PM on a Saturday during the busy spring break holiday. To say it was packed would be an understatement.
I asked for Brian, my go to guy and they said they could get us a private room but we had to be out by 1:50 because another party had reserved the room for 2PM. It was a deal!
We arrived to free valet parking and a line out the door. We were ushered inside and after a 3-4 minute wait, were led to our private room.
On the quick walk through the restaurant, we could see how unbelievably crowded they were while people ordered, ate and dim sum carts were constantly wheeling around serving people as quickly as they were being refilled!
All the dim sum carts food was great and fresh and the dishes ordered to the table came out quickly and perfectly cooked and seasoned.
I honestly don't know how the kitchen put out so much food, such a variety of food and so quickly. Amazing execution! Attentive staff and very accommodating host.
A quick list of the non dim sum foods ordered were beef with bitter melon, 2 orders of crispy Hong Kong style chicken pan fried noodles, beef chow fun, gai lan, pork and thousand year egg jook, a soft fried tofu dish I don't know the name of and a not on the menu dish of a creamy egg sauce with shrimp over narrow rice noodles that was perfectly executed and no problem for the chef's too cook when my aunt asked for it.
The dim sum was awesome too! Lo bak go, tripe, chicken feet, pork ribs, cheung fun, siu mai and sicky rice to name a few.
We were done and out by 1:42 without feeling rushed. The staff scurrying to have the room turned over for the next guests to arrive.
Thank you again Asian Jewels for helping my family have such a nice experience after such a sad occasion.

Read moreI was out in NY for work and wanted to take my team member to try dim sum. Looking at reviews, I settled on Asian Jewels. Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised that they provided free valet parking. There was quite the line, which is a good sign, put our name on the wait-list and asked how long the wait would be and they said 20 mins. I was thinking no way, but it was exactly as they said...and I can see why..the place was huge! We walked through four different dining spaces..which were all filled with patrons. Our table was in one of the further back dining areas which is usually a concern for getting the good (fresh) dim sum, but that wasn't the case here. Service was attentive and the food was plentiful on the push carts that came through. The food was simply amazing! The XOB we're hot, the wrapper was just thick enough to pick up with chopsticks without breaking and spilling out all the delicious broth. The stewed Honeycomb tripe dish had a bit more daikon than expected, nevertheless the flavors, seasoning, and cook was perfect! The steamed book tripe and chicken feet were also cooked to perfection...for the book tripe it had a nice snap and crunchiness to it (o recooked and it like a rubber band). The chicken feet didn't have excessive amounts of red food coloring and was one of the best I've had flavor and cook. Not overly steamed where you are just sucking off the skin and cartilage, rather the skin and cartilage are still boyant which provided something to work for. I can go on and on..but really every thing we've tried was fantastic, as was the service. Upon exiting the store I noticed it was a Michelen Guide recognized restaurant...and...
