Love Rumble! Have been going here for the past few years on and off, but more consistently (multiple times a week) as of recently. I would, however, like to advocate for more of the trainers to go around the class and provide feedback to people. I was in an amazing class with Bradford Rahmlow last week and he was incredibly instructive and went around during each round to provide feedback (such as keeping my elbows tucked after throwing a hook instead of keeping them flared out). MORE BRADFORD AT CHELSEA!!! Only one class with him and he’s been the best trainer I’ve taken a class with! It’s a shame he only teaches two morning classes on the same day. Other trainers need to take that involved style of teaching and demonstrating. Or maybe a refresh training is needed for some. Yes, it’s a ‘boxercise’ class and not a sparring gym, but those of us who go consistently want to improve the actual boxing element, not just receive empty praise like a name call out from the platform where you can see they are just reading down a list 🥲🙏🏼
Edit: To add, I only got a class with Bradford because he subbed a different class. More trainers should do this to meet new members and be known outside of their normal hours. I just took an 8am class outside of my regular times...
Read moreI felt like going to a night club. Very loud music, around 60 people packed in a very reduced space in a basement. There are 2 areas, one where you punch heavy bags, another one where you do diff routines like lunges, lift weights, jumps, etc. The space is very small and I felt uncomfortable all the time, touching either my neighbour's feet or the mirror next to me, it's appalling they are charging such a ridiculously high fee (approx. $600 for 10 classes) when u cant even work out properly. Also, if you are into a proper work out, and you re already in shape, I would def not recommend. Rumble is for a young crowd not really into fitness and more into posting on Instagram a picture of how cool they are for doing "boxing" and having fun. I did not break a sweat, there is not proper guidance from an instructor, mainly as there is SO much people there. It's just about listening to motivating music and having some fun, not a real work out. If at some point you are interested in doing proper boxing,...
Read moreLet's be honest. If it's a Saturday or Sunday, you'll probably be hungover when you walk into this beautiful studio. If that's the case, don't worry because hitting a boxing bag will help you forget about the headache you have from the pickleback shots you had in the LES last night.
The top floor consists of a nice waiting area and some lockers. There are also some lockers downstairs in the bathroom areas as well as the actual studio. Be sure to bring a big water bottle and some wrist wraps / gloves if you have them.
The class is divided into half boxing, half weighted floor-work. The audio/visual display is amazing with each of the rounds guided by an instructor and visual display of punching combos / list of things to do on the floor (burpees, squats, etc).
The vibe is top notch. The crowd is serious, hip, and ready to brunch as soon as class is over. Instructors are lit. Will be back...
