SP+ Parking — Local services in New York

This place treated me horribly and tried to scam me. An attendant let me into the garage and told me to speak with the valet person about pricing. I did just that, he said it would be $27 for 2 hours, he took my phone number, and I received a link for pickup. When I went back, they brought me my car and then I tried to drive out but the machine asked me for a ticket, which no one ever gave to me to begin with. The link I was texted did not count as a ticket. I explained to the valet person that I didn’t have a ticket and he told me I must have lost it and would have to pay a $30 lost ticket fee in addition to paying for the parking itself. Obviously I argued with him because no one ever told me to get a ticket and the gate was open when I drove in. He insisted that I must have gotten a ticket or reserved in advance, and said he wouldn’t let me out until I paid for both the parking and the additional lost ticket fee. Long story short, I had to call the police in order for the garage to let me out. I paid for the parking of course but not the insane...

While the parking attendants are professional, courteous and helpful, the garage itself is poorly run in that there’s no manual way for them to let you exit the facility. I used an app to book and pay for parking. My card was charged, and I received the barcode to gain entrance into the garage. When it came time for me to request my car and leave, I never received an exit barcode. Because of this, the garage would not let me leave. I literally threatened the manager by giving him two choices - one was for me to crash through the gate with my truck, and the other was to call the police to tell them that they were keeping me against my will. When the attendance tried to call the manager, he was anything but helpful. Until Garage figures out how to manually operate the system I will never park there again. I mean what happens if the Internet or power goes out? Are they just going to hold your vehicle hostage? Very bad...

Made a reservation with ParkMobile. Arrived. Security guard was nice, couldn’t get the QR to scan but said they could help in the garage. Lady in the garage was awesome. Gave parking pass said present this and QR code to pick up. She understood my concern of an $80k vehicle with 2k miles on it. Returned to get my vehicle and the nightmare began. They told me I had to pay additional fee because what the lady told me wasn’t true. She’s an employee there, why wouldn’t I trust her with her word? I paid the fee and I wanted my keys as I was parked right at the exit. The attendant told me it would cost $40 ADDITIONAL to drive my own vehicle. To add insult, when he got in, he couldn’t get my vehicle in drive. Then got out and handed MY keys to my significant other as to say I’m a woman and less of a person than him.
