Their happy hour deal is one of the best you'll find downtown, $4.50 for a can and it's for quality stuff (though if you're looking for mass produced, they don't have it). It's part of the Hudson Eats food court so you can park yourself at a table and relax and enjoy the view of the river and the Jersey City skyline or work on your side hustle with the free wi-fi (you will see remote workers here as well). Security and cleaners keep the place pleasant. Other than the Nutella tartine, skip the food, lots of pretentious stuff like kale and multi-grain toast. Get food elsewhere and your drink here.
All is not perfect: BFP overheats the space in the winter and the sun beats on the windows in the spring and summer, you will sweat all 12 months sitting here. Also, without rhyme or reason it's either serene or loud, crowded and chaotic seemingly based on the whims of the "hybrid workers" (you never see them on Monday or Friday) and what random day is the end of their workweek at AMEX and the other employers upstairs. If you don't like noise or you are doing work or studying (you see students too) it can present a problem particularly since you don't really know what day to just go someplace else. The good thing is the staff is outstanding and will meet you at the counter even when it's slammed, and you can always retreat someplace else in Hudson Eats or the Winter...
Read moreI don't frequently go here. The options don't really interest me aside from the BBQ. Went to mighty Quinn and I was helped exceptionally well by a young woman who was working the cutting board. She really went the extra mile to make it a good purchase and I appreciate it. On account of this I would make the trip there just to buy with these guys. Wierd thing is, at the registers while standing and considering buying another order, and no one else on the line to pay, the cashier gave me the sarcastic rush to leave "bye now". The minute I finished paying. I couldn't make sense of it. I barely spoke with her to cause a problem. It tanked my whole experience and like I said I was feeling good about the spot. I guess I wasn't supposed to spend that money lol. But I'm conflicted about buying there now. Like 71st street before this, I don't like to spend money where people rather not have me do so. No point to prove. And for bbq I end up spending good amount. You have to get for everyone. The times Square /garment district shop are really good about the customer experience and the up selling too. I blew well over 100 in there twice. Bbq is good though. Thanks very much to the person on the cutting board though. I was really...
Read moreHudson Eats is a food court that manages to temp you back time and again with the best versions of your favorite comfort foods, with an upscale twist and price. Most meals will range between $15-$20.
You can start your day with the great bagels at BLACK SEED and excellent coffee selection at OLIVES. Then go back a few hours later and enjoy one of the city's best burgers at UMAMI. Or stuff yourself with some of the city's finest BBQ at MIGHTY QUINN'S. Everything at Mighty Quinn's is magical. You could dine on the sides alone and be happy. All the other choices, from sushi to the burritos at DOS TOROS to dumplings and the cupcakes at SPRINKLES are fantastic.
For the more health conscious, head over to DIG INN or CHOPT, for more great selections.
Good luck finding a seat at lunch time though, as this place attracts a lot of workers from around the area, and the lines get long.
Non of these locations are as good as their main locations scattered around the city, but they are excellent non the less. And you'll have a hard time finding another spot in this area that will deliver as wide a range of foods...
