This is for department of Oath. It started off great when we had our first hearing. I was told to correct an issue that I had which was already corrected prior but I didn’t have the right documentation as far as proof with the certification of correction . I was given a second court date to come in with the corrected certificate of correction which I had to go to the city and get done the same day. I am getting out at 1230 from Oath and being told to go to the city to department of buildings to get my documentation with proof corrected. This was not a realistic time frame to get everything done. I went ahead and got my documentation notarized same day and by the time I can head out back to the city the office had closed. I could not make it due to shortness of time.
The following week I go to get make correction from DOB and after paying for garage parking and waiting in line for hours, I am told that my paper work was not correct and I need the company that did the work to submit the work order. I had an invoice of everything that was done and it was not sufficient evidence. I had separate issues several times with the DOB with paper work missing and it was getting out of hand. I finally get everything done and finalized after a whole 2 months.
I come in for my second court hearing and submit all my proof of the job was done before the correction date, with photo evidence of work and also my invoices. I have spent nearly over 1,000 dollars In repairs, lost time at work because I had to take off from work 4 times to comply with these summons. The judge tells me since all the work was done prior the date of my first court hearing I will be fined half of my full penalty. I am already heated because I did all the work paid all this money and still getting fined. I said ok and agreed to pay half the penalty. They did not want to process the payment there and said I will have to wait a few days for the result to come in the mail. (Which is a kind way of saying, we going to charge you the max since you didn’t do the job on time and we going to send it in the mail so you don’t get upset in the office) I got the bill at it was for the full penalty.
Outraged, upset, loss of work, headaches, taken advantage of and lied too. Just say it how it is, I lost so much time and energy to make sure everything was corrected. Give me the credit where it is due. Stop taking advantage of hard New Yorkers who are living paycheck to paycheck and stop lying to them !
My advice for anyone who has to deal with Oath, hire an Atorney and let them handle the stress. I wouldn’t have Mind paying someone 500 bucks to have everything taken care of then lose all my time and...
Read moreThey refused to return my deposit, so we sued the company directly, and we eventually won the case. Then when it came to the payment stage, their front desk clerk kept lying to me. Their manager, David, was a liar and wouldn't answer my calls at all, but I saw that when the front desk clerk called him, he answered the phone immediately. They kept deceiving me that the money would be transferred to our account, but several months have passed and not a penny has been returned to us. I have never seen any company so shameless and so non-compliant with contracts and laws. They are a cancer to...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews, but the act was too heinous for me not to warn people. The company charged me for a year for a service they did not provide me. When I noticed and asked them to reimburse me, or at least credit me, they denied me while blaming me for their error. This is true thievery. Not only that, but it also shows they have no care for small businesses, and will use predatory practices just to make a buck. Truly heartless. Don't use...
