Had the 17-piece, $99 omakase here and was super satisfied with most of it. Highlights for me included: A5 Wagyu with Scallop, Uni & Caviar (I mean... what else can you ask for?), Fatty Tuna (basically fish butter, enough said), Miso Black Cod (great char and flavor), and Hamachi (the roasted shishito on top was a fantastic flavor booster).
The two that didn’t quite live up to the rest were the Wild Spotted Shrimp (tasted a bit off to me) and the Toro, Foie Gras & Uni Toast (had high hopes, but the huge foie gras piece overpowered everything else).
I also ordered an off-menu item: Ankimo with Scallop and Caviar, which had a well-balanced flavor, definitely worth trying.
The milk pudding dessert was a perfect end, great texture with just the right amount of jiggle.
Service was great, but the atmosphere was just okay. Lighting wasn’t ideal, not just for photos but even for seeing the food clearly. I was also really interested in seeing the preparation of each dish, but had to lean in to watch the chef work. If the chef's workspace were slightly elevated, I think it would make the experience much more engaging for everyone.
Overall, the food and service were excellent, it's relatively affordable compared to nearby omakase spots, but the dining setup could use some...
Read moreThis is by far the most worth omakase experience that I've had in New York so far, and would be the only one I would be willing to come back to! Located in LIC, this is a newer omakase spot resides in The Factory (although there is also apparently a location in Midtown East as well!). I came here for lunch one day and was fortunately able to try their 13 course omakase set (apparently they typically don't typically do omakase for lunch, but the staff was able to accommodate!). For ~$70pp and with the quality that we got, this was unbeatable. Service here was great, and the chefs were so friendly to talk to.
Each piece that I tried was fresh, delectable, and very high quality. While some of their pieces were more traditional and simple, such as the matai and ebi we tried, they also had some unique pieces. My favorites of the meal were their torched salmon with foie gras; otoro with uni and caviar; and their buttered toast with toro, charred onion, scallop, and caviar (my favorite!!). I also loved their tofu pudding that they ended the meal with. Would love to come back to try their 17...
Read moreMy first time here and I can say with 100% honesty that this is the best omakase spot I've tried so far. Don't be off put by the fact that this is in food hall which when we went seemed kind of dead. I've been to at least 5 omakase experiences both in queens and the city and I'm always like yeah this was good I enjoyed it but, but Omakase Osukka was spectacular. My fiancé is also not the biggest fan of sushi but he agrees this was the best one we've had the pleasure of enjoying. Like he said for every course "wow. It melts in your mouth". The sophistication of the each individual element of the appetizers and nigiri was amazing, and we opted for the 17 courses that were well worth it. Both our chef and host were excellent, and we even learned a bit about sake that we paired alongside...
