first of all, i never write reviews, especially bad ones. i usually keep it to myself, which is saying a lot. I waited an hour to make sure I write a fair review without emotion involved. I had a horrible experience here. I scheduled a lash lift and tint a month ago for today because I have a trip coming up this week. I looked on my email confirmation, reminder email, and website to see if there was any pre-treatment care I should keep in mind and saw nothing. I come to the appointment and they said because I’ve used tretinoin and retinol in the past two weeks they can’t do the service. that was really frustrating because that is really important information to tell your clients before the service. i was disappointed by that but I let it slide because the technician was very nice and there are bigger problems in the world. But then she only died the top half of my eyelashes. I understand maybe there’s a chemical thing where they can’t get too close to the root, but again that is really important information to know ahead of time because I have blonde eyelashes and now it looks like i half half blond and half black eyelashes. fine, whatever i let that go too. but the part that makes me so frustrated is that i specifically said do not dye my lower lashes because they’re really long and it looks like i have mascara running down my eyes when they’re died. the technician said of course and went along with the service. i looked at myself in the mirror after the service and my lower lashes were completely died. honestly, i give the technician the benefit of the doubt because she was a nice person but this was the absolute worst service i’ve ever had it was a complete waste of money and bad service, bad management, bad overall. you can get a much better outcome for lash lifts and tints at mai lash bar in flatiron, or bespoke brows and you can get much better service for sugaring at sugared and bronzed. i tried calling the provide customer service line rather than write a public review but there was no answer and the line eventually hung up one me. so...

I don’t know what all these “good reviews” for Africa are about she must be asking people to write them honestly. Been doing my wax’s with Sugaring NYC for a little while now. Recently did my Wax with her, she did a horrible job!!!!! when I got home I realized she didn’t clean my labia area at all, it was full of hair and she did not form the wax properly to get all my hairs off she broke the hairs off and I had multiple little baby hairs poking and multiple other areas that to remove would need to be tweezed one by one. I had to book a touch up with another person who did my sugaring before named Chandise who was moved to the the Union square location who did an amazing job the last time I saw her and after this experience I’ll never go to anyone else besides her or Gisell who works in the 59th st location ! I would’ve never experience this with them!!! Now I need to return in 3 weeks when I can usually go a little longer because my hairs are going to grow faster because of how many broken hairs I had left and to tweeze each and everyone of the broken hairs would be extremely painful. This is not a cheap service, it’s $70 and you are dealing with people’s intimate areas you should be more cautious and get your technique together before providing...

I’ve been to this location several times for sugar services. My last experience was very pleasant with Melissa marti and should have booked with her, very gentle and sweet. Today I just had a sugaring service with destiny miller and from start to finish it was such a horrible experience I will never be returning to sugaring because of this and will find a new place. Destiny was so rough with even wiping my skin down with the bounty before the wax began. While getting sugared, she was so rough that the wax landed on the wall. I was in so much pain because she was so rough with my skin, it felt like using all her muscles to wax me which was unnecessary. She even waxed me twice which has never been done usually they tweeze once it’s done (which added to the severe pain) and she didn’t leave the room when we were finished to give me privacy to change, she stayed there to clean up. I can tell she’s very inexperienced and a poor esthetician. Another issue with this company is sugaristas constantly quit or call out which affects my appointment causing it to change to a new day or entirely get cancelled.
