I visited the Dolce Vita store in Soho about a month ago to find my perfect wedding shoe. The pair I wanted wasn’t available in my size, so the staff offered to order it for me and have it shipped to my home. That turned out to be a terrible idea.
First, when I checked the website later, I saw that the shoe was on pre-order, which no one mentioned in the store. Second, the price I paid in-store was higher than the price listed online. Finally, when I called customer service to confirm whether my order was also on pre-order, they told me they couldn’t help because the purchase had been made in-store.
For an entire month, I tried calling the Soho store and not once did anyone pick up the phone. This was especially baffling because at checkout they told me I could call anytime if I needed help. After waiting to see if the shoes would turn up, I received a call from the store saying that my order couldn’t be fulfilled and had been canceled. Honestly, they did me a favor.
The store itself is beautiful, and the staff were kind during my visit. But the overall experience was awful, and from now on I’ll stick to...
Read moreI will NEVER be buying from Dolce Vita again. I went to the SoHo store looking for a pair of red ballet flats. I tried on several and picked the perfect ones. They didn’t have them in stock so I asked if they could order and have them shipped to me. They said yes. The employee was so busy she could barely help me but she figured it out. I asked her if I would receive an email once the shoes shipped and she said yes the shoes will arrive in one week. After a week, I didn’t receive any emails. I called Dolce Vita customer service and they said they couldn’t help me because I bought through the syore which doesn’t make any sense. Their systems should speak to each other. I called the SoHo store 5 times and left a voicemail. I DMed them on instagram and that was the only way they could get the store to call me. Turns out that the shoes were back ordered so they promised me a shoe that they couldn’t even get. It is crazy that I had to call customer service, call SoHo, comment on instagram, DM on instagram, and email just to get information. Absolutely insane for a...
Read moreWe visited on Saturday 6 September around 5pm. Literally everybody right behind us were greeted as they walked in, except we were not. I'd seen a couple of boots online that I'd wanted to try on but after a few mins realised we were being completely ignored unlike everybody who'd begun coming in after. What led to further unease was this particular caucasian customer assistant with brown hair who was looking us up and down (but hadn't bothered to interact with us at all, just watching) so I let her know that I'd realised that she was sizing us up and down but hadn't greeted us or asked if we needed assistance (but had with everybody else). It was then that she asked if we needed assistance clearly feeling embarrassed she'd been caught not only profiling us, but lacking acknowledgment of us also. After condescendingly asking me which boots I'd wanted to look at (her tone, her brusqueness), she proceeded to grab my sizes, but after waiting a minute I was so over it by then and exhausted from that overwhelmingly negative experience at the...
