Sausages! Sausages! Sausages! Best Chinese sausages! Pork, duck liver, and chicken sausages galore! In this cute, no frills sausage shop, my brother and I were greeted right away in Cantonese which we sadly don't understand- we're the wurst! Thankfully, they had an English chart behind us. We split an order of 5 lbs of slightly sweet Cantonese cured pork sausage (lap cheong) between us and I plowed through my half within 2 meals- it's that good! It's freezable, so I'm already plotting my next order, especially the duck liver. A real wiener! ;)

NOTES/TIPS: **Steam for 20 minutes or lay it atop freshly cooked rice and cover. Slice to serve. I wish they provide samples, but you have to buy packages or lbs of their products to try.

Most of their preserved meats and sausages are made in house. The staff speaks limited English, so just point and order if you don't speak Chinese. Most of their products are labeled with English, but if you have dietary restrictions or allergies, you might want to be careful.

If you're making fried rice, Chinese casseroles or cooking something with meats, this place is the spot to pick up some fresh dry, preserved meats...

My family were old customers of this store for as long as I can temembet. We sold their sausages from our DC Chinese mom & pop grocery store. Our Mee Wah Lung closed after over 65 years of business. Like many of the old Chinatown stores we got driven out by gentrification & exorbitant rising taxes. Ming Jan will always be our favorite vendor. Now we only buy when friends can go up to NYC and bring back the good stuff.
