Sophie is an absolute miracle worker with curly hair. We recently visited her at her beautiful salon in NYC from out of town and it was absolutely worth the trip. It was unlike any salon experience I have ever had and wildly exceeded my expectations. Even before the appointment, she asked questions about the hair and wanted to see photos to prepare. She was very patient with my young daughter and really took the time to ask questions about our lifestyle and offer helpful and realistic suggestions on ways my daughter could improve her curly hair. Sophie is obviously extremely knowledgeable about how to maximize your hair and enhance curl (and avoid frizz) and had recommendations for reasonably priced products and equipment which truly work (she does not sell products herself so her recommendations are trustworthy). Sophie’s haircut was simply amazing — she did exactly what we asked, and the curl held for days. My daughter’s hair has never looked or smelled this good! She is also now able to care for her curls with confidence since she understands the techniques involved. Sophie even followed up after the appointment to see if we had any questions or concerns. Sophie has been cutting my curls for over 12 years, and she’s been with me through so many hair transitions including post partum hair changes, and different styles as well. I used to want to have longer layers with less volume, and the past handful of years I have been a big fan of all the volume (so great)! She’s made it happen, whatever it is I’ve envisioned. She knows the level of maintenance that I’m able to do regularly and can counsel me on the pros and cons of different styles, etc. We talk about products, swapping info on the products and tools are working well for us.
