The Battery — Local services in New York

Love it!! I visit the area several times a week. Park is vast, beautiful, natural delight of trees, shrubs & flowers. Bathrooms are greatly assessible. Food & water can be purchased everywhere. Walks, jugging, running, biking....all great here. The view of the harbor & Lady Liberty are a gift. Tour Guides & Liberty Island Ferries are here as well. The Veteran & Fallen Heroes Memorials are incredible. The promenade with the harbor & New Jersey view is a must-see. One of my favorite places...

The Battery is the new name of Battery Park. I suggest avoiding the area unless you absolutely must get a ferry to the statue of liberty, or Staton island. There are very annoying people trying to sell you tours all over the place. Very rude too. When I ignored one guy, he started harassing my wife because she is on crutches, he started asking her at the top of his voice if I had done that to her. Guess he did not like...

The Battery offers a view of the city's past.
