So much to say about my experience here. First and foremost, when we arrived there was no wait. The host seated us and at that time was very polite. Thirty minutes later and no greeting from the waiter, no water to drink, we decided to look around like lost puppy dogs and catch the eye of the host. It is also important to point out the host seated us just outside the restaurant within her field of sight. Once the host noticed that we had not been greeted, she came over to take our drink order, water and strawberry daiquiris for the pair of us. While taking our order the phone ran at the host station, the first time it had run since being there, at this point we noticed a stocker man in a blue polo having dinner get up to try and answer the phone, we assumed this was the manager or owner. He also could clearly see us from where he was sitting. Another 10 mins later, still no daiquiri but a waiting assistant brings us water. Another 5 mins later the host comes out to confirm that we wanted strawberry daiquiris, which we confirmed. Another 30 mins later, still no waiter, no daiquiris, no contact with the host or the manager. Mind you another couple that came in after us was seated just inside the restaurant has beer and a waiter has taken their order. So, finally I got up walked inside to the host stand to speak with the host and I ask her how much longer it would be for daiquiris? At this point I was told that the machine was broken and that they couldn't make them for us. She also stated that a waiter should have come to let us know and take our order. Nope never happened. I returned to the table to speak with my husband about the quality of the service (another 5 minutes), when a waiter finally arrived. I spoke with him and he stated he was wholly unaware of the daiquiri order, the machine, etc. Needless to stay we decided to leave. Worst experience ever.
Another thing I would like to say is my husband and I are an ethnic couple just reading other reviews here and elsewhere stating that discrimination was something they've experienced. Not sure if it was a factor in ours as well.
Also I would like to point out that elsewhere kitchens were closed so had to grab a sandwich form a lovely shop not to far. Starkly different from the sit down meal we were expecting but kudos to them for a...
Read moreRe: Came For Drinks - Bartender Attempted to Steal Cash From Wallet We came to Broadstone for drinks with friends on a Thursday night. The staff was really nice and the drinks were great! We were the last group to leave the bar and my friend left her wallet at the bar by accident. Newly married, she had some cash in the wallet. The next day she called the bar several times after it’s opening to ask if the wallet was there but no answer. We went down to the bar to see and the bartender gave her the wallet saying he tried to chase us down and give it to us the previous night. We were so thankful and started to walk away only to notice that in the tiny zip pocket in the far back of the wallet, all of the cash was missing. We asked the hostess and bartender where the cash was and they “found the wallet without cash”. We were the only group in the bar that night so did the cash crawl out on its own? We were shocked. I noticed a security camera on the ceiling and asked if we could just see the tapes. At least if we saw the tape then we could know what happened. The hostess picked up the phone to call the manager - I guess the phones work now. Suddenly the bartender comes out of a back door with the cash rolled up. He said it seemed to be placed next to the wallet in the back. VERY STRANGE. We never saw those tapes since we got her money back.
After two years of this pandemic, the last thing I want to do is rip on a business trying to survive in this unfavorable economy. However, it was the blatant dishonesty and shadiness of this exchange that has left a bad taste in my mouth (& our entire group).
I hope you can do better and you don’t attempt these types of ‘choices’ in the future. It’s a shame because the reviews look amazing for dining and like I said before, the drinks were great. Please vet your team and watch those...
Read moreVery impressed as we walked in and were surprised by the open windows although it was nice. We immediately order the surf and turf Bloody Mary and asked if the waiter had any recommendations. He said he did not, he had not eaten brunch here although he did mention that the chicken and waffles is a large portion. We ordered the crème brûlée French toast and a side of bacon. Our food came before the Bloody Mary. The French toast was excellent. We wished we had not split it but for as long as it took it to come (while we still did not have the Bloody Mary), we weren’t about to waste any more time to order another. Twenty four minutes after ordering and more than half way into our French toast, the Bloody Mary came. The waiter apologized mentioning that they had to send the order to the kitchen but the order line wasn’t working so it took so long. Worst Bloody Mary ($22) either of us had ever tasted: the bacon, olive, and pickle were good but it also included two “boom boom” shrimp but they were basically deep fried with a thick batter and not flavor or sauce. The Bloody Mary drink itself tasted horrible - not tomato or horseradish flavor at all - plain nasty. We did not drink it. When he brought us our bill I told him it was the nastiest drink we had ever had. He said he would...
