The cookie house lives! No longer in its hut in the middle of the food court, the Cookie House is now a storefront. While the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies isn't as all encompassing as it was years ago due to the placement of the ovens further away from the counter, that familiar smell still lingers in the air nearby. The chocolate chip cookies are as good as when I was a kid. When they're fresh and oozing chocolate, they're among the best cookies I've had. The chocolate chip peanut butter, double chocolate chip, and oatmeal raisin were also great examples of their respective geneses. There was definitely an element of nostaglia walking home with these in the bag; I couldn't stop looking through the bag's window. But I was shocked that this institution has held up so well in less-than-ideal conditions for all these years. To those who won't come here because it isn't "gourmet" or "authentic" enough for you, well do us all a favor...
Read moreThis place is hard to resist if you have sweet tooth. That’s why i’m a customer. I just have a suggestion to make. I bought a few things here today and i would prefer that the server would actually be better for this business if a server would be paying attention and be attentive instead of standing behind the counter, facing the customer, chit chatting with the coworker and expecting you to place an order. No “Hello”, No “How can i help you or how can i be of assistance to you?”. In the mean time, moving around like a Sloth and pretending not to understand me when i mentioned to her that i was waiting for her to pay attention before i could place my order. Btw, she did not hand me a receipt until i mentioned it to her and she looked at me as if i asked for too much. What happened with handing a receipt to a customer? Wasn’t that a basic requirement for years? If you keep hiring Ignorant and lazy people, you will...
Read moreMy coworker and I were discussing these cookies as well as all of the old stores (Bun N Burger, Beefsteak Charlie's etc) that used to be in KP. He lives in BK but I haven't been to Kings Plaza in years but started going when I was a kid. Our favorite spot before leaving the mall was The Cookie House. I mean these cookies were baked fresh and warm when they went into the bag. So warm that the chocolate would melt in your hands. Most of the reviews are what I expected which is that they are still on point which is nice to know. The Cookie House reminds me of my late sister. Her favorite was the Oatmeal raisin. I may have to make a trip to Bklyn (I only live in Queens) just to get some cookies if...
