I live in New Jersey and I came into Manahttan on the PATH train. Show time was around 6:00. I took the L Train from Manhattan into Brooklyn but the MTA was doing track repairs and my station was closed. I had to walk to Union Square. The Meadows is very close to the L Train station at Grand Street. Once I got there I was instructed to walk a short distance and turn onto Waterbury Street. Waterbury is a side street and I just walked right past it because it was the other side of East Brunswick street. So I wound up getting to the venue after the opening bands because it took longer than expected for me to figure out how to get to Meadow Street. The directions on Google are correct, I just screwed it up. I had bought a ticket for Nerf Herder and I was just pleased I got there in time to see the show.
Drinks were pricey! I ordered a pint of beer and it was $13.00. I left a two dollar tip because I knew I wasn't drinking anymore that night. And I had managed get a partially empty bottle of water inside my jacket. Per the promoter, the tickets were available for purchase the DICE app. That was no problem. The venue was a nice size and the crowd in front of the stage was big. The men's restroom was clean and comfortable. The gentleman who took my ID and gave me a wristband at the front door was polite. Whole staff seemed nice. Cool chill Brookyn peeps.
The music and sound in the club were impressively amazing! An example of a tremendous sound situation. I didn't have any hearing protection but I managed okay for the Nerf Herder set. After the show I got to talk to the guitarist Linus of Hollywood and the drummer...
Read moreabsolutely not lol. 3 significant problems… with plenty more I won’t get into.
This venue has a bar, which is serving alcohol to minors without any ID checks. I know people who were kicked out by security for under age drinking, when the venue themselves had provided these minors the very same drink they got in trouble for. Bands are also given a free drink ticket per member, but water is free for all of the band members so it truly doesn’t have any other purpose besides getting alcohol… and when your venue is directly giving these kids beer, you should be held accountable.
Security has NO RESPECT for ANYONE. Snarky remarks, unnecessary attitude, rude behavior, and antagonistic comments. Not to mention putting their hands on people and shoving them to the ground. They also don’t tell you there is no re entry until AFTER you have stepped outside, as it isn’t made aware upon entry. And ofc they don’t allow you to come back inside, so say bye to your belongings i guess?
there is a literal hole in the bathroom where you can be seen…the girls bathroom also does NOT have a working lock. I see from past reviews someone was using the restroom and a security guard shined their light through this hole?
This venue is a joke and I will never return. If this place was a parking lot it would provide more dopamine than any moment I have...
Read moreI've been going to this venue for about a year now. I usually go to reggaeton/bad bunny night, the music is good. Drink prices are way too expensive and security is terrible, but the room is nice and there's a back yard so you can smoke. I went to reggaeton night on 2/22, there was some guy who looked and smelled homeless wearing bright puffy orange pants. He started bothering me and my friends as soon as we got there. My friend told him to leave me alone twice. While waiting for the girls bathroom, he walked by me and groped me. I smacked his hand off me and told him to get away from me. He tried grabbing me again, while laughing. One of my male friends came over and he left immediately. I went to find a security guard to try and get him removed from the club and they told me the guy with the orange pants is friends with the managers, so he won't be kicked out. Our entire group ended up leaving because we no longer felt safe in the venue. Tldr: Drinks are expensive, security sucks, Meadows staff will protect abusers if they're...
