WE LOVE THOMPSON CHEMISTS! Let me tell you why - I hope you to keep reading 🤞🥹 This store is owned by a married couple who truly care about the people they are delivering their products and services to. They form a community out of nothing in a bustling neighborhood of people moving in and out - it is like nothing else I have experienced in New York City. I moved nearby the Thomson Chemists after college and one day I walked in and Jolie (the owner) made me feel so welcome and safe. She got to know me, told me about her store and products, and remembered my name the next time I came in, along with the details I had shared with her prior. She takes the time to introduce you to your fellow neighbors, many of which I have formed friendships with because of her - it’s an incredible way to meet new, kind people. Jolie also looks out for you like her own family, saying if I ever feel uncomfortable walking on the street, etc, just duck into their store for some help. It was like having a mom and dad away from home 🥹 Now that you know the people are great, let me tell you about the INCREDIBLE products! Their pharmacy sells everything from CVS-like basics to elite French cosmetics, and don’t forget that they are a fully functioning pharmacy for your prescription medication needs (that side of things is run by Gary, Jolie’s husband). If you need something you don’t see, Jolie will order it for you and have it there the next day or so. They also have their own line of beautiful products designed specifically for the Thompson Chemists that they are so proud of. They have lots of clean beauty items and they even have lots of things that make great gifts when you’re in a hurry, like books, candles, luxury personal care products, spa items, etc. This is truly a one of a kind place and it needs your support - Shop small and shop local people!! This is just a few blocks from the CVS, so please opt for Thompson Chemists instead of you can :) And if I haven’t sold you yet, believe it or not they even host small bluegrass music nights the second Tuesday of every month. Even if bluegrass isn’t your cup of tea, swing on by to meet your local community!! I will miss this place when I move, thanks for everything Thompson Chemists!

Stopped by on my way to the church, had a lovely interaction with Irit as they gave me lots of information about the products they carried from homeopathic medicines to cbd creams they make in house. Upon arriving, I also noticed it smelled so lovely, as they had candles burning. After searching around and seeing that they had all my favorite brands, I noticed they also carry supplements and vitamins! I then met one of the owners, Jolie, who showed me around herself. We all seemed to connect on a lot of coincidental things which felt really great and special. Everyone was warm and welcoming, the store is tight but no space is taken for granted. They carry Mason Pearson, Nuxe, Avene, Weleda, Christophe Robin, Klorane; YOU NAME IT! All within reasonable prices for such and everything clearly labeled and priced. They also have their own brushes, candles, essential oils and much much more. I will be back to try some homeopathic pills, deodorants and to restock some of my skincare...

Thompson Chemists is a rare, gem of a store in this day and age of computers, self service and impersonal consumer checkout. The owners Gary & Jolie actually care about their customers and community, engage with them and are there to answer all questions. They have eclectic hard to find beauty items from around the world and a stellar pharmacy built on trust and credibility. I chose this spot as my first in store product location for my beauty business because I was touched by the owners’ genuine enthusiasm to care for their clientele.
