This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Post office and I am 74 years old. They are incompetent they have lost the package that I have sent from Bakersfield California to my aunt in Rego Park it was insured and because I was off one number in the ZIP Code they refused to deliver it They are incompetent they have lost the package that I have sent from Bakersfield California to my aunt in Rego Park it was insured and because I was off one number in the ZIP Code they refused to deliver it. I have been calling to find my package which I paid $14.20 to have delivered since January 24. They told me it was ready for pick up which my aunt cannot do she is homebound. My cousin went to pick it up and was told the package had been returned to me that was on January 24. Yesterday I went to my post office to see if they’d perhaps have my package. The nice woman checked and ran a report to see if she could find the package with a cracking number and she did. It was still at the Rego Park Post Office and had never been scanned to be sent back to me. I was given the printout of this package from Bakersfield all the way to New York so that today I could call once again and get them to deliver the package. All I get is an automated system and now the system says there is no longer a valid tracking number. Because of their incompetence a handmade gift to my aunt who has now been in the hospital twice since I sent the package will never receive the gift I had hoped would put a smile on her face. If there was any other way that I could get a hold of a person and speak to them as I have done in the past with this very incident perhaps they would have looked in their carrier case or notification left ben and have found the package. I really hate the incompetence of this...
Read moreUpdate: Found out recently that a package labelled as "Delivered" by them, was in fact sitting at their office since March. Eventually it got sent back to Japan in June. I thought it was lost/stolen after it was delivered, because why would they intentionally enter the package as delivered, unless... oh, ok yeah it'd be a lot easier and the staff can dodge any responsbility. what does it say about this post office, when people have to assume the worst and go there to double check if a package was truly missing, or the staff just took it back while labelling it as delivered.
They do their jobs kinda like just to make the paycheck, so there will be regular mistakes. The few times I had to go to the office for missing packages, I had good experiences, and staff were professional/helpful. But it would be nice if I don't have to go there to begin with, especially when I get like 3 packages every month, to the same address. Some will arrive just fine, but every now and then (once a month) a package will have strange errors on tracking website.
Sometimes you just wait another day and the package might be delivered, sometimes it never gets to you, and then you must check the neighbors to either side of your house (sometimes mail/packages get left at neighbors mailbox/door without explanation). Your best bet is to get to know your neighbors, and agree to a mutual mail/package thing where you watch for each others' wrongfully...
Read moreThe worst post office ever... The post Master or manager (black guy with dreadlocks) was very disrespectful didn't deliver my package decided upon his own to send it back... They had no money orders 2 days in a row.... Asking questions that were none of his business... The address was correct he tells his carriers to deliver packages and not to deliver others total disregard for anyone as I entered the place to address my concern I heard 3 or 4 others stating other concerns... Sounds to me like this post office needs to have its doors shuttered or the post master should be fired or relocated because he is a very disrespectful boundary crossing person... Only upside was a older black woman who worked there who tried to help me only because she felt embarrassed to have to work with this guy... Wow do not go there do not ship from there do not enter there... If you can have your mail forwarded to the post office at 71st avenue much cleaner nicer staff and in order... This post office would get a zero from me if possible or if there was a number below zero it would be to good for the dread locked post master... He needs to be fired and Stephanie the carrier should be fired too !!! Or this post office should have its door shuttered... Do not go there they are by far the worst post office I've encountered...
