I visited Token, the new spot on Queens Boulevard. Out of the three bigger dispensaries in Forest Hills, Flowery Queens has the nicest atmosphere, and Royal on 71st is the most convenient.

Token’s selection is still pretty limited, but Tay (employee) was welcoming and helpful. One nice touch — they included a tray in my bag, which was a really thoughtful move for a soft opening and shows they’re making an effort to leave a good first impression.

That said, my interaction with the manager, Jamie, wasn’t great. He checked my ID, misread the expiration date, and flagged it as an issue — but he was wrong, and there was no acknowledgment or apology afterward. Not the end of the world, but it left a negative impression.

When I handed over my ID, he also gave me a quick up-and-down look, like he was questioning my age. Maybe someone else would shrug it off, but it didn’t sit right with me — and for context, I’m 40.
