Based on the other reviews, I guess service depends on the day or clerk, but I had an EXCELLENT experience at the 42nd Street Times Square location. After dealing with the circus, I mean, post office on 34th Street (James M. Farley Station) trying to get my passport taken care of, this location for me was great. Firstly, when I checked the website to see if I could make an appointment since 34th Street was no help, even though I had all valid stated documents with me, and cost me my appointment, I saw that the 42nd Street location had an opening the following day which was miracle, because EVERY other place from the UWS down to the Financial District, and even select locations in Jersey are booked until at least the 2nd week of August, so I jumped on it!!! Once there, both David M. and Amy were amazing!!! Because my appointment was running behind (due to USPS negligence), I asked David what the timing would be like since I was on my lunch break. He was super kind enough to pre-check all of my paperwork and gave me the cost of everything so I could write my check while waiting for Amy. He even commended me for being super prepared. When it was time for Amy, she greeted me with the warmest smile and was very kind. Because David prepped me before Amy, it sped things up and I made it back to my job at the time I told my superior I would. The reason I gave this 3 stars vs 4 or 5, is for the USPS in general. The USPS really needs to remove Passport Photo Service if they are not going to honor it in person. It causes unnecessary snowball affects that they clearly don't care about. #1, people show up for their appointments unprepared because they don't have passport photos because they assumed their USPS Passport Photo appointment times would be honored, so that means they have to go offsite to find a location who can take their photo and then come back and have to wait to be seen because now their appointment time is gone. #2, once those people come back from finding a place to get their photo taken and wait until whoever is at the window is finished so they can be seen, then it makes whoever had an appointment next delayed, because now they have to wait until the person who had to go get a photo to be serviced since their appointment was technically first, but it unfairly cuts into someone else's appointment time. When I went to 34th Street, the clerk lied and said the camera had broken the day before. When later reading the reviews for that location, another person said they had told her the exact same thing on another day. When I went to the CVS at the suggestion of the USPS clerk, who then sent me to Duane Reade because they didn't have Passport Photo Service at CVS, the clerk at Duane Reade told me that the clerks at the 34th Street location always send people to them or CVS simply because they don't like doing photos. He even described what 3 of the clerks looked like; of which one of them fits his description of the one I was with. At the 42nd Street location, they told the gentleman ahead of me the same thing, he said...that their camera wasn't working and sent him to on a wild goose chase to get a photo. He wound up all the way of 49th and Broadway to find a place to do his photo, he said. Luckily for me, I still had my photos from the 34th Street debacle but my appointment was delayed because I had to wait until they serviced him first. Technically, he was there before me, but for an appointed time that had now passed so him having to go get a photo because USPS falsely advertise that they not only do Passport Photos, but have the nerve to offer appointment times for photos, made my appointment delayed. Luckily too, I only had him ahead me, but had the same thing happened that day at 34th Street, I would have been screwed because the line was super long when I came back from getting my photo taken. I say all of this to say...they need to STOP advertising that they do Passport Photos and actually giving appointment times for it, if they are not going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give negative stars if I could. The management here is nonexistent, Supervisor , Tiffany or Crystal, or some name of some jewelry. Itās the incompetent person I have ever encountered. Sheās super rude and just loves yelling at the customers. First of all she was this used to come out to resolve any problems, and if she does come out of her back, she will yell at the customer, no matter what time of day it is I want to see that sheās having lunch, and unable to resolve any issues. And they cannot answer a single question with regard to PO boxes, we have been waiting to get keys for over one year. There is so frustrated and do not like to deal with people, they should just quit instead of being rude to the customers who are coming in and paying for their services. Avoid this location if possible, itās super stinky and noisy, always understaffed, thereās always a lineup at least 20 customers, and only one window working because the rest of them are too lazy and sitting in the back eating lunch all the time or taking smoke breaks. Smile on the face of any person at the counter, they are very short and rude and always in a hurry to have a customer leave. Saiff needs a serious change, especially the supervisor, if this location is to gain even a one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI mailed out my passport to a visa office in New York from Seattle, but the tracking said the following weird messages(I have not gotten any updates since then). So I called the post office and see what they know, a lady just yelled at me and said that I was not patient enough, I should wait after a few days to contact them and she said it was a waste of time talking to me. COME ON! IT IS ABNORMAL TRACKING INFO HERE! Maybe the phone call was not 'recorded for training purposes' so she could say whatever she wants. AND the worst thing is that, any packages that are going to the visa office are definitely going to be transited through this PO. Worst day ever and feels helpless.
