Todd Layne Cleaners and Laundromat — Local services in New York

I have lived in this neighborhood for 50 years. I have never come into the store, though I have passed it at least twice a day for years and years. I don’t know what possessed me to suddenly try them. I sent them bedspread and three shams and a round table skirt. They picked it up promptly. They returned promptly and even better they did a superior job. It looks better than when it was brand new. I highly recommend the store. I am sorry to say I have to amend this review. There is a problem. Alyssa, she answers the phones must be related to the owner. As a retailer myself, I would never keep a person that has a mouth like this one. The bottom line is the store is never wrong. If there is any kind of a problem, she will scream and rail at you and tell you that every word of every conversation is taped and she can play them all back for you. That’s not really the way to keep a customer. They did some cleaning for me and though I am very allergic and make it very clear as to what I need and what I don’t need the item came back smelling of cleaning fluid. To their credit they did offer to redo it for free, but I didn’t want to trust them and gave it to someone else. I did give them laundry again. And there was a misunderstanding. It could’ve been on my part but the way Alyssa spoke to me was a complete turn off. She gave me a date for delivery and a time I stayed and waited when the time came and went I called. I called three times , she never gave me the courtesy of a return call. And I had to wait another day to get the laundry. It would’ve been so easy to just call and say I’m sorry we were delayed. Oh my god. I have lived in New York City for years. I have a very thick skin and would NOT describe myself as a sensitive person. Their owner actually reduced me to TEARS over the phone. Not only is their service so beyond horrible, but the owner is the nastiness, most condescending jerk I have ever encountered. And I say that as a New Yorker. We know bad behavior pretty well. This place tops it all.

I had a wash and fold order that not only arrived 2 hours late at 10:00 at night, but the laundry had not been folded!! It had been thrown in a bag and came completed wrinkled!! They charged my card ahead of time and also neglected to give me the first time customer discount which they advertised on their website and told me I would receive. I had sent in dry cleaning in at the same time, so I called and asked if a discount could be applied to the dry cleaning as well as the "first two orders" promo. The owner not only REFUSED to give me a discount for the mistake OR the promotion that was advertised on their website and that I was told I would receive when I first called to make my order, but also proceeded to berate me in the most disgusting fashion that I actually started CRYING on the phone!! I have never been so degraded by someone I have never met. Absolutely awful. Do not come here. Bad service,...

I'll never forgive you destroyed my precious $143 sneakers(Price isn't that much problem, but I really liked them and they were limited edition.) I just got my sneakers (Puma×Maison Kitsuné collab white sneakers) back from shoe cleaning.

OMG, first of all, they were not clean at all. Dirt was still on the sole. Secondly, they were still soaking wet inside the shoes and got that HALF DRIED SMELL SO BADLY so I can’t wear them anymore. They smell horrible(you can't imagine how horrible) which obviously didn't before I brought to them. (I brought the shoes to them on Thursday morning and picked them up on Saturday evening, so I think they left my shoes wet at least for 2days!!) I tried to dry the insole and when I took it out, I found a little black insect was inside my shoe. It was alive!!!! I paid about $20 and they just RUINED them so bad.
