The representative wasn’t terrible, he was just not communicative. He asked me to input my address but never said billing address, so I put in the wrong one. He never told me it would take 24-48 hrs for my phone to port over. He never told me the $15 equipment warranty was monthly, he made it sound like a one-time thing. He never told me what my total monthly payment was going to be. I was just suddenly done and he would just give me one word answers. It ended up causing a lot of problems because I thought my phone was broken when it wouldn’t work right away. But of course it was so hard to get ahold of anyone who would help. It kept redirecting me to the port center (which I had no idea what that was, or that the porting was the problem) and then hanging up on me. It was extremely frustrating. Since I couldn’t get ahold of a person, I made another appointment at the Verizon store online. (I had made an appointment for my initial visit too, but was told when I arrived that I had to wait in the line anyway). Again, I showed up on time for my next appointment, but this time there was a much longer line of about 10 people going out the door. None of them had appointments. I went to the front to tell them I had an appointment and was told I had to wait from the back of the line anyway. At that point some more people started walking up that had appointments. All of them were told by the manager directly that their appointment time would not be honored and that they had to get to the back of the line. It was 90+ degrees and very humid and the line was outside. I was in disbelief that the manager would do this to people who went to the trouble to make appointments and arrived on time. I said to the manager “then there’s no point of making an appointment if I have to wait in line anyway, right?” He said, “That’s not what I’m saying but I’m saying you have to wait in line anyway.” So I repeated the question. He said “you can view it that way of you want.” It was appalling after everything I’d already been through (at this point neither phone was working so I wasn’t getting texts or calls despite being on a business trip in NYC where I desperately needed a phone in general, and needed it to use Uber to get anywhere)
I gave up trying to find help at that store. I called customer service again and finally got though to a person. I had to call again anyway to change my billing address. The experience was a total nightmare. I also wasn’t even given the option to trade in by the way. I didn’t know about that but would’ve traded in if they would’ve told me.
I’ve never experienced anything worse with a phone company in my life, and that was as a new customer switching over to Verizon! I’ve been at Sprint and T-mobile and have never been...
Read moreI'll start by advising you to go to the store on 2nd Ave and 90th st. I came in to get assistance getting a screen protector put on my new flip phone. First guy, nice guy, tells me he can do it but if he messes up their not liable and told me there's a 50/50 chance of it working and that I should go to Best Buy. After Best Buy turned me down because the protector I purchased was from elsewhere I returned to have one of the store associates at Verizon assist me. He tells me that he'll find somebody who's more comfortable applying the protector. Before he could finish his sentence this guy comes over from the back of the store covered in sweat and in an aggressive tone told me that they would not put the screen protector on my phone because I did not purchase it from the store. I knew this was either untrue or a policy that is not typically enforced because I've had several screen protectors I've purchased elsewhere that they have put on for me.
After about 3 minutes of arguing with the rude man I asked him what I am supposed to do and it was clear it didn't concern him because he told me to do it myself. He said that me being a verizon customer has nothing to do with my accessories and that I was out of luck.
This was not the case, after calling verizon they directed me to the store on 2nd ave and 90th st. Here i was helped by two knowledgeable gentlemen who took care of me quickly and professionally. I had to purchase a new liquid protector but was pleased with my purchase after speaking with the associate. You'll see how legit these guys are in comparison just by looking at the reviews. GO TO 2ND AVE AND 90TH!!!!
The unprofessionalism is clear on 86th Street. I left feeling frustrated and stupid because of the way I was treated. Whoever runs this place clearly doesn't care if his team knows anything about the tech they sell. This might be the most useless store on the upper east side. You want real help go to the 2nd ave location and get...
Read moreI bought a wireless hotspot here 2 years ago. I went in today to ask questions because Verizon changed my plan without notifying me. The representative had no understanding of the plan that they sold me two years ago. I several times had to correct him as he clearly was not able to understand verizon's own plans, the company he represents. After he was incapable of understanding he told me to just call customer service. I explained the reason I came into the store was because I didn't want to have to send 45 minutes dealing with poor customer service over the phone. He told me there is no other option. I called while in the store, waited 20 minutes before they even picked up. The first representative on the phone repeated my plan back to me immediately which the in store rep could not understand. However the over the phone rep didn't understand the problem I was having that they changed my plan without notifying me!! They eventually hung up on me without helping.. the rep who originally spoke with me didn't care that this happened. I eventually went to another store nearby and immediately was able to get some help from an in store rep. This location clearly hires stupid, lazy and inconsiderate people. Don't waste your time or money at this location. In my opinion Verizon's customer service generally sucks with over th phone reps too. They are the most expensive carrier and the least they could do with their constantly increasing prices is offer good customer service but they don't. My recommendation is stay away from Verizon altogether.. but if you must use Verizon DO NOT go to this location unless you want to deal with inconsiderate people that do not know anything about the...
