This restaurant thinks it is fine to scam their customers! Here is the story: I am currently pregnant and I was craving Malaysian curry. We used to eat here in the past when we were still living in Queens and during my pregnancy we ate here about 3x within the last month. Now it is important to say that I don't do well with chicken right now as I get super nauseous once I eat it. The first time we ate in. I ordered the Roti Canai with chicken, which they got wrong and brought it with chicken, so I kindly told them that I didn't want chicken in it and asked if it would be okay to get a little more curry instead (and they said it was no problem to do so). I ate some curry, my Roti, some of my husband's food and in the end we ordered one more Roti Canai to-go and asked for a container for the leftover curry. The to-go curry was barely more than my leftover curry even though the same kind of containers were used... what the heck?? Anyways. Second time my husband drove all the way from Long Island to get me two to-go orders without chicken and more curry (they said again, that's no problem) and both containers were barely halfway full.... Third time was a fcking sht show!! Same game: hubby drove over, two to-go Roti Canai without chicken and both containers combined barely made 2/3 of one container!? This is rude and absolutely unacceptable to make your costumer pay twice the price for literally ONE portion! I understand if people try to save some money here and there but these people working here absolutely don't give any sh*t about their customers. My husband and me have been eating here for so long and they absolutely lost us and several of our friends now, as they agree, that this is totally ridiculous and plainly a scam! I hope you guys make sure you get your money's worth of food here as it seems like the staff thinks people are stupid especially when...
Read moreA staple for Malaysians living in Flushing, this restaurant has been around for years. It serves some of the best Malaysian style street food. The roti canai, the CKT, the seafood Hor Fun, the Prawn mee or commonly known as Penang Hokkien Mee is quite popular and authentic. Their grilled skate (Ikan Pari panggang) is very well executed here. The sambal belachan atop the filets are so delicious and spicy. Reasonably priced. Service can be very slow if the take-out orders piles up. It can also get very crowded during prime dinner times. Which happens this evening when we were there. I I usually go there around 6.30pm for a delicious, no frills Malaysian fix.
UPDATE: May 06/2025
Oh my, this restaurant has really gone downhill. Was there twice recently and find that the food quality and the way its cook and presented has failed twice. I went twice to make sure that I experienced it myself after speculations from Malaysian friends that they are not going to this restaurant anymore! So my take after my recent visit. We ordered the Ying Yong Hor Fun on both visits and both times, the dish is below par. There is no wok hei taste on the noodles and the sauce is bland. Overflowing with cornstarch and egg gravy that is disappointing. We ordered the curry laksa and it’s really different from the other times we have tasted it. What happened? I guess all the amazing chefs left? The owner grilled our satay and the restaurant was empty. Could it be the restaurant has failed to live up to its reputation? I will not be going back anytime soon. The have also raised their prices considerably. Don’t mind if the food is still good, but in this case, it’s a waste of $50 for 2 people with one appetizer and 2 noodle dish plus tax and tip for lunch. So very...

I've been here three times. Food's always been good, and I've never had an issue with service or prices (although ill admit, the shrimp with cream is a little pricey.)
Decor needs an update; it's very much a hole-in-the-wall restaurant- which I don't mind at all. I will say that service is very lacking; It's more of a "what can I get you, here's the bill" type of place, which I don't mind that much. So this was my issue today...
Today I went with a friend. Our bill was $58.75. We gave $65 in cash. As I said, service was lacking, but I usually don't mind; we get checked on once is we're lucky, but I usually have to wave someone down to get a check or to get a to-go box. On my way out, the lady at the register stopped us. I had a difficult time understanding her. First, I thought she was trying to give me a change back, but in fact, she was asking me for a $2 tip. The tip I had left for the service was $6.25, a little over 10%, which I thought was more than fair... We didn't have $2, so we gave them a $10 bill and got the $6.25 back! I was so embarrassed. If you expect a certain amount in tips, post a sign or something on the door! I was so embarrassed and uncomfortable.
What they wanted was a 15% MANDATORY tip! I think the tip not only depends on how good the food is but also on the service. I wouldn't mind tipping more if the service was better. You shouldn't get a 15% tip just for a "what can I get you, here's the bill" type of service.
I most likely...
