I've been coming to Yelo spa for years. mostly for their nap pods and their antigravity chairs - which they have since gotten rid of - they now have these antigravity beds - which aren't really the same - I really really miss those chairs... but I still come back to the spa primarily because of Jackie the masseuse. also, their front desk people, the nap specials, and the thoughtful products are all great reasons to come to this spa. back to Jackie: Jackie is an intuitive and caring masseuse. she has a hearing impairment - I believe - and my sense is that it makes her much more sensitive to the going ons in my body and every massage with her has been sensational. sometimes it can get a bit strong - but it's for my own good. I don't feel pain after our sessions - for brief moment, I am relaxed and all is well. I need to be better about self care in between our sessions - but I wanted to give a shout out to her once more.
I'm very particular, as we've all become - with so many options out there, many other deals - but I think yelo spa still has reasonable fees, great products, and really nice people and Jackie. re: staff. they are so terrific - and they aren't passive aggressive nice either, you know sometimes people say something nice but in a tone that isn't - or patronizing - and I was upset about an appointment that was not scheduled correctly. Kristina was a professional - helped me find a time that worked for me and was really nice about it, too. when you go to the spa, you meet these beautiful soft spoken women and you're immediately calmed and welcomed. it's been a stellar experience each and every time. I'm very glad to be a client at yelo spa. no, they didn't pay me to write this review :)
yesterday, I had a great session with Jackie - but I had to leave my nap early (I usually do 50+ min massage and 20 min nap) because I apparently experienced sleep paralysis - I was awake, but I couldn't move my body and I was hearing buzzing noises. it freaked me out - I thought I was kidnapped by aliens. but even with this weird/terrifying experience, I still stepped out of the spa feeling fantastic and had a great night sleep...without the paralysis. has anyone ever experienced this??? weird. ANYWAY! yelo spa...
Read moreI just went yesterday. I skeptically tried it out, it's a bit of a trek, haha not really but I'm a dowtown girl/ I live in Williamsburg, but HOORAY it lived up to all the good reviews you see on yelp and Google. It's in a building squished between YSL and Burberry on the 12th floor. Standing outside the building, I was thinking "New York is so busy and crazy how can I be relaxed here?". The elevator opens up to a space that feels so calming. Womb like I daresay. It was so nice. Not hectic or busy. It was just me and the spa. I tried this out on a Gilt coupon... But after all was massaged and scrubbed and napped. I signed up for their membership. Which is such a good deal. $99/mo for a 60 min service each month. You choose whether it be a massage, facial, scrub. Then you get 20% off any additional services. And your services roll over from month to month. And you can let anyone use them. AMAZING so chill. So perfect. And You also get some surprise products when you sign up, and each month you get another treat. I could go on + on ... Look how many ANDs I used. I felt like a new person and I highly recommend. I'd also like to thank Beth who was my Massage Therapist for doing a great job, the front desk girl was also great but I didn't catch her name.
I can't wait to go...
Read moreGood massage ...I've had several but only one is the best hands down I had at 9/11 from a masseuse from the red cross, second was at the silver star spa a few years back...my gosh that had to have been the best ever.
this one was pretty cool and relaxing though I wish my hands although I know they are rough from me power lifting and all but I think she could have done a better job on my hands and feet as well those are deal sealers ...If the hands are done well the massage is the best. Though the head neck and trap massage was good as well I'd rather her spend more time on my hands. ( was almost orgasmic)
All in all thanks a million was a birthday gift from my son. Check it out. They should ask though any spots in familiar which need a lil more attention. Especially...
