Sakshi Bhava Yoga Studio is truly a one of a kind gem in Brooklyn. Amit is an amazing yoga teacher and I was fortunate enough to go to his teacher training in Rishikesh. I’m no longer living in NY, but it was amazing to learn from someone who was from the birthplace of yoga and who has dedicated their whole life to yoga. Amit has such a welcoming vibe and lives a very inspiring life and has inspired me with my own life, practice and as a yoga teacher. Words cannot really express how much my yoga teacher training has meant to me, but I’ll try to give you some details of what to expect. First, Rishikesh in November is absolutely beautiful. Once you arrive you’ll stay in an Ashram along the Ganges River, which was cold, clean, and moved pretty well - we swam in it and there are some cool little River beaches in the area that we spent some time practicing on. The grounds and the accommodations of the Ashram were really well kept. Just don’t walk around with food in your hand or the monkeys will take it. Lol! Seriously, I really enjoyed the Ashram and I would go back there every year if I could. The training is absolutely unbelievable. We received hands on instruction and how to do corrections along with understanding proper alignment of postures with key alignment cues. We also received yoga philosophy instruction from one of the Ashram masters (you don’t get more authentic than that). Amit and his teachers will and can answer any questions you have about yoga and teaching yoga. We also went white water rafting on one Saturday after training. It was an amazing treat. And we did go up into the Himalayas over a weekend, which was an adventure of a lifetime on its own. The whole trip was an amazingly positive experience. I highly recommend Sakshi Bhava Yoga Teacher Training whether you intend to go to become a teacher or not. Regardless, you’ll deepen your own yoga practice and knowledge and find yourself in an amazing yoga journey. But if you do want to teach, you’ll gain the confidence and knowledge to begin teaching. The training and the instruction will prepare you well to teach. And if you’re in the Brooklyn area looking for a yoga studio, give Sakshi Bhava a try. I use to live on Staten Island and I would make the trip for a weekend class with Amit. It was always well worth the trip and a FIVE...
Read moreI recently had the privilege of embarking on a life-altering journey, earning my second 200hr Hatha Yoga Certification with SakShi Bhava Yoga in the beautiful city of Rishikesh, India. Without a doubt, this experience has been nothing short of transformative.
Over the course of 30 immersive days, I not only refined my teaching skills but also delved deep into the profound roots of authentic Hatha Yoga. Under the impeccable guidance of the instructors Amit Kumar at Sak Shi Bhava Yoga, I was exposed to a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that was both enlightening and enriching. Their unwavering dedication to preserving and sharing the essence of Hatha Yoga is truly remarkable and inspiring.
What set this yoga teacher training apart was the introduction to a myriad of new practices that enriched my holistic well-being. From meditation techniques that quieted the mind to cleansing practices that revitalized the body, each day brought new insights and growth. My personal favorite was the enchanting journey into mantra chanting, which allowed me to connect with the native tongue and immerse myself in the melodious vibrations. The incorporation of didgeridoo sound meditation was a unique and soul-stirring experience that added an extra layer of depth to my practice.
Yet, the magnificence of this journey extended beyond the studio walls. India's natural beauty unveiled itself in breathtaking ways. Scaling the mighty Himalayan mountains, navigating the pristine waters through rafting adventures, and submerging myself in the sacred Ganga River were moments that not only touched my soul but also deepened my connection with the world around me and, most importantly, with my inner self.
SakShi Bhava Yoga, far more than a certification, offered a life-changing odyssey. The knowledge acquired, the personal growth experienced, and the indelible memories created are treasures that will accompany me on my life's journey. I am profoundly grateful to SakShi Bhava Yoga for opening the door to this transformative chapter in my life.
As I continue along my yoga path, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share the wisdom and insights gained from this remarkable journey with others, helping them find their own transformative moments. I look forward to future endeavors with SakShi Bhava...
Read moreYoga House has become my home for deepening my yoga practice. I was initially drawn to their emphasis on the philosophical underpinnings of yoga, and I haven't been disappointed. The instructors weave yogic philosophy and principles into each class, creating a truly holistic experience.
I've been attending their daily classes regularly, exploring different styles like Vinyasa and Hatha. The classes are well-structured, offering a balance of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation. I always leave feeling grounded and refreshed.
What sets Yoga House apart is the clear dedication to providing a strong foundation in yoga. It's evident that the instructors are deeply knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the transformative power of yoga. I especially appreciate the emphasis on alignment and mindful movement, which has helped me to deepen my practice safely.
While I haven't yet enrolled in their teacher training program, I'm seriously considering it. The program's focus on "developing a strong foundation in yoga philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology" resonates with me.
If you're looking for a yoga studio that offers more than just a physical workout, I highly recommend Yoga House. It's a place where you can truly delve into the richness of yoga and cultivate a deeper connection to yourself."
Special thanks to the caring teachers of the studio: Amit, Olga, Elena, Olga, Natasha, Nico,...
