I received probably one of the best haircuts ever by Cici this week. I grew my hair out the passed 2 months having normally styled my hair with a part. The problem is that barbershops (even great ones) sometimes opt for efficiency over detail scissor cuts. If you're looking for a place where you want to receive full service your hair health, face shape, styling and future hair goals, or need a big boy haircut look no further.

The cut: Cici was thorough on explaining the length of time needed to achieve a certain style goal. She spent 10-20min consulting/strategizing our plan to get my hair on track. Went for a quick wash and towel dry. She balanced out the sides (previous barbers would just buzz cut without proper balance) and added layers, reduced weight (I have thick hair and needed my hair to flow evenly) so that my hair would grow in a flattering appearance and making my haircut last longer. After scissor cutting 30-40min, she used clippers to taper the back and fade in my sideburns to beard. We went back to washout the hair, she blowdried and styled my hair using their saltwater natural finish fatboy seasalt pomade.

Salon: Very intimate, lighting is warm and each stylist/client seems to have their own room/space which I appreciated. You can be as honest and vulnerable about your hair as needed and I never felt rushed (no person waiting inline or barber eyeing the next client). You are offered a drink (water, coffee, probably other options). The pieces around the rooms were nice, felt like a west elm studio. The music was great, 2000's hip hop, r&b some recent music too not too loud. They have an elevator and bathroom. Great vibe!

Price: Each stylist has their price listed on the website. I paid 95 (tip I paid 20) The price includes the consultation visit, hair wash, haircut/styling.

She is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but she has great foresight and executes a long term plan - allowing my hair to grow for optimal results six months out, but cleaning it up so that I still look great today. As for the service, the barbershop at Domenico Vacca is truly one of a kind. The space is stunning and clean and beyond any expectation you may have.
