I purchased a package of ginger, and it was completely stale—not just mildly off, but with an old, unpleasant smell. Even after boiling it, the stale odor remained, and there was no ginger aroma at all.

My advice: monitor slow-selling dry items more carefully, and consider repackaging them in freshness-sealed bags or with freshness packs to preserve quality. I was very disappointed to spend $20 on ginger that I couldn’t even use, when I could have bought fresh ginger at the store for less.

We love this store for their unique flavors from oils, vinegars, dips, and salts. They let you taste any flavor you are interested in. The price is a good value for what you get and the length of time they last. When you buy your oil, go ahead and buy the pour stopper. They come in a variety of colors and look great with the bottle. While they do accept returned cleaned bottles, I prefer to keep mine to use with my olive oil and home grown herbs.
