Read moreThis restaurant used to be one of my favorites before I moved out of Newnan to a new County in GA. I was invited to a friend's birthday celebration which friend was planning to have here yesterday from 6pm to 8pm. She knew from the start when she had called restaurant 2 days ahead that they made no reservations in advance for big groups but she called to ask how early should she be there to request a table for 11-12 people? A 30 minutes in advance on a weekday was sufficient, she was told! Our get together was supposed to be at 6pm. She could not be there at 5:30pm so another lady friend showed up in her behalf, part of the group celebrating. Communicated needing a table for 11-12 as soon as she arrived. I arrived at 6pm and We finally got sat down between 6:45pm to 7pm. Terrible experience and definitely would not recommend to anyone with a party of more than 6-8. This was a weekday I cannot imagine what would have been on normal busiest days like Friday and Saturday! Everything took forever! drinks and food! Felt bad for waiter but this restaurant is either understaffed or the staff is not synchronized with the logistics of running a restaurant. We did not get our food until almost an hour later...I ended up feeling sick because I do not accustom to eat that late...and still have a 45 Minutes drive back home in Roopville GA. Left such an unpleasant experience I will not go here again until I know from other local friends things have improved! I do not care how good food can be if a restaurant holds you kind of hostage for unreasonable long period of times between having been seated, given drinks and food ordered and brought to table. The ironic thing was we were given this customer satisfaction little papers which I did not ever bother filling out. I simply wrote... Will not recommend this place to anyone I care about to go through what we went through to come celebrate a friend's 75th birthday! My time is more worth it than this place getting my money for a plate of food! 😬Thank god there are so many other choices of Mexican food restaurants...
Read moreI came into town to see a property and decided to stop by La Parrilla for a late lunch and a beer. I sat at the bar and it looked like the staff did not want to be there. I’ve been to other locations and their customer service is great; different story at this location.
With regard to service (I gave it 1 star, but really should be zero): When I sat down, staff didn’t greet me or offer me a menu. I had to wave the staff down to order a drink. I finished my beer and waited a few minutes for the staff to check in on me, to no avail. Other patrons next to me also had to wave down the staff to get service, which is very disappointing, specially if you’re sitting at the bar.
Regarding food (I gave it 2 stars because the guac was prepared fresh): I ordered guac as an appetizer, which was freshly prepared in front of me, but they forgot to add salt and pepper, which is pretty basic. I decided to not order anything else, finished my second beer, and went across the street to actually get my meal.
On the positive side, I saw a few regulars come in and they were treated very differently, with the staff greeting them with a smile and by their first names. I’d like to think maybe the staff is not used to seeing people from out of town? In the restaurant industry, however, I feel like you have to prioritize new customers so they come back.
On another positive note, after I paying my bill and leaving a good tip, the person behind the bar brought me a glass of water. I’ve never had water brought to me as I’m about to leave the establishment, it’s always as soon as you are seated. That was awkward to me, but appreciated. Also, I usually tip above normal because I’ve worked in the food industry and I know pay is not great. Atmosphere was nice, the restaurant is clean and lively. I’ll probably avoid coming back to...
