It breaks my heart to be writing this, because up until today, Full Circle was one of my all-time favorite stores in Ashley Park. Their stock is always incredible and the vast majority of the staff are super friendly, helpful, and polite. But on my first and only day of working at this establishment, my experience was so negative that I feel ethically obligated to speak out about it.
One of the managers at Full Circle, Richard, made it his business to make joking remarks about me which made me feel uncomfortable, even before I was brought on for a job. He criticized what I was wearing one day, a frilly purple shirt, lace gloves, and a sun hat, saying I didn't need to dress so fancy when coming to the store. I laughed it off at first, but when he brought it up a second time in passing, it started to feel less like a joke, and more like harassment. Even so, I thought nothing of it, and let it slide.
Then just today, I was brought on to help sort Full Circle's loose action figures, and it was delightful at first. I worked quick and efficiently. Then the other manager, Mrs. Kelli, took the time to show me around the place. We got to the kitchen area in the back room when Richard thought it would be funny to repeatedly reach for one of my accessories around my neck, thus violating my personal space. I told him to knock it off, setting that boundary immediately, and he responded by joking further about chaining me to the wall with what I was wearing. I emphasized that I didn't find that funny, and in fact I felt very upset by what he shrugged off as a joke. Then he got angry and let me go, after I got paid for what little time I spent working today.
Even as I was getting ready to leave, Richard followed me into the back room, insisting that he could be the nicest guy I'd ever met, and that I was the problem. He said I needed to toughen up. This sort of behavior is neither professional, nor acceptable, and I'm deeply ashamed that I'm even having to write this review, because I love Full Circle. And for what little time I spent doing what I was hired to do, I enjoyed it. But after what I experienced, I never want to set foot in that store again. I'm extremely disappointed in you guys and I hope you learn...
Read moreMy husband and I are retro gamers, and I’m also a toy collector. We were excited to travel nearly an hour to shop here on a Saturday. But, the customer service was so off putting that we wound up leaving without making purchases.
I asked the first employee that I saw about the large Mario figure behind the counter, asking whether or not it was for sale. That employee had to ask another, which seemed weird. Shouldn’t all employees know what is and isn’t for sale? Or, was it only not available for sale to me personally?
After the second employee determined that the Mario wasn’t for sale, the first employee mocked the decision. As if I’m a child, he explained that Mario was watching over the store … it was condescending.
This store seems to have A LOT of display-only items, including the console boxes and autographed merch. It seems they’re edging on being a museum as well as a retailer, which can be frustrating to a collector.
My husband asked about a 3DS game that was stored in a locked, glass display. He was a little disappointed that the video game case wasn’t OEM and was second guessing buying it. Apparently, he was taking too long to think about it. The employee aggressively asked, “Do you want me to put this back or not?”
I realize the store was busy, but the lack of good customer service and being rushed into a buying decision...
