I shop here frequently and the selection of lounge and intimate wear has gradually increased compared to when they first opened. It is understandable that there is only so much space to accommodate some items of this nature, not all.
Unfortunately, the staff here is hit and miss. Much more often than not the encounters with individuals choosing to be snobby, shortcomings in training in regards to sale policies, or treating customers as if you are not worth their time is commonplace here.
Yesterday I was there and had a genuinely great experience with one of the floor associates. She checked if any additional sizing was available in the back and told me that one of my items could be ordered online and shipped to me. I would have preferred that she handled my sale at checkout because the man working at the cash register was one of the worst employees I have encountered at this location.
His treatment of my purchase as a whole was as if I was NOT spending nearly enough for it to be worth his time. Yesterday Anthropologie was running an extra 25% off all sale items. Three of my six items were from the sale table at the back of the store. The other three were full priced garments. To further drive the point home, there was a hard to miss banner across the back wall emblazoned with "SALE".
When I attempted to pay with cash for my sale items - two small packages of organic snack bites and an oil diffuser- the employee told me they could not accept cash until tomorrow. That was fine, so I took out my credit card. However, when I looked at the total on the credit card processor screen, I noticed that the extra 25% off was not applied to the oil diffuser, but it was to the two $2.95 snack packs. I asked him why the discount was not reflected on the oil diffuser and he answered very matter of fact, "Because it is not a clothing, accessory, or shoe item."
When I reminded him that the sale sign at the front indicated the inclusion of all sale items, he retorted this asinine statement that I "chose an item that is not a clothing, accessory, or shoe". And I replied, "So the fact that I brought these from the table in the back that are all sale items, two of which are food, means that the oil diffuser isn't part of the sale?" Keep in mind the sign that greets the customer at the entrance showed "Enjoy an extra 25% off sale items". Basically there were no exclusions.
The worker rolled his eyes and said, "I'll give it to you this time, but the sale is only for clothing, accessories, and shoes." What, did he think I would be so focused on the $.70 that came off of the snacks, yet not notice the extra $4.00 or $5.00 that didn't come off of the oil diffuser? Or was it the fact that I prevented him from pocketing the larger value? It really begs the question.
Oh, and because one of my items needed to be ordered online, I spared him from bagging one less item. Oh the horror! It's not hard to be friendly and exercise customer service. Try it...
Read moreI walked out of this Anthropologie today feeling like a million bucks! I just wanted to get a top for dinner. I’ve let my wardrobe go for years, I don’t even know the lingo these days. But the women in this store are so kind, and helpful, and just everything I needed today. That one top turned into two bags full of outfits. They helped me SO much and didn’t make me feel dumb - I’m so grateful. I bought things I never would’ve picked out myself but actually really love. They gave me the confidence that I could make it work. It was the most fun I’ve ever had shopping for clothes for myself, I usually loathe it and feel awkward. They made stylish outfits out of clothes that looked intimidating on the hanger. I highly recommend this location and the women that create magic here. Go in with an open mind and leave your self consciousness in the car. I look forward to needing a reason to visit...
Read moreI’m not surprised to read negative reviews about customer service at this location. Anthropologie shipped me 2 pairs of the same shorts (different sizes), in 2 separate orders, with no tags. Long story short, I returned at different times and there was a mixup with my returns. The staff treated me like I was doing something nefarious by returning, a second person came over and accused me of telling them that I removed the tags, which I did not. When I called to explain the situation to the store manager she hung up on me mid-sentence. I will never return to this location again. So disappointing - it was like being in mean girls. I spend a lot of money at Anthropologie and I’ve never been treated that way in a store in my entire life. Drive over to...
