I think I was punked but will never know for sure. Daughter and I stopped in to browse, maybe even buy something for her 1st condo. Lovely people, and obviously nice things. On the way out, she spots a "daily drawing" fish bowl to enter your name for a prize. She fills one card for herself and one for me. Lo and behold, I get a call at the end of the day saying I won! How fun! I asked if they could tell me what the "prize" was but I was informed no, I'd have to come to the store to claim it. I had also missed an earlier vm about the win, and the person congratulated me twice in the message. So, we were kinda excited and I told my daughter that whatever it was, she could have it.
So next afternoon, in anticipation, I make my way over to the mall, park, walk the walk to the store. A store employee approached me and I quietly tell person why I'm there. A cashier notices and smiles at me broadly. So I'm thinking okay, this has to be decent. Maybe a small appliance? Perhaps a gift card? I mean C&B is a classy operation right. Finally, a third employee comes to the counter with a gift bag and a form for me to sign off on. I peek in the bag. I look more closely. And what you see is what I got.
Crate and Barrel, are you for real? Whoever drummed up this idea to gift a prize - which can only be claimed in person - worth $2.00, should go back to marketing school. I still don't know who should be more embarrassed. C&B for such a lame promotion, or me, for hiking back to the mall for something worth WAY less than my time and energy. I never wanted to leave a store so quickly! And for the employees who think I was happy because I snapped a pic of this prize at the store, well you didn't pick up on the sarcasm.
Anyone want a free Jigger? You MUST pick up...
Read moreIf I could give “0 stars” I would!!!! Back in March 2022 we have ordered 2 sofas (spent $5.500), they’ve told us that it will be delivered mid August 2022. That didn’t happened. Nobody called us to give us heads up, we were without living room furniture more than 2 months, and with me being pregnant!!! Viviane, manager from Old Orchard where we have purchased this furniture was not helpful, she was so annoyed with our questions, and us calling every second day. When the day of delivery came (late October 2022.) they couldn’t bring the furniture inside because they say it was too big, so we rented a crane, and she (Viviane) told us they will pay half of the cost for crane, which NEVER HAPPENED. Plus, one month of using sofas and it was full of wrinkles and cushions are so bad!!! They’ve send someone to take a look at it, he just touched the sofa and he decided it is fine… So in the pictures you will see a sofa who is not even 1 year old, and it’a already looking bad! And to mention we are home late night, me and my husband are working full time plus from April to first week of June, we were out of USA- so overall experience - DO NOT BUY FROM CRATE AND BARREL! NEVER! P.S. they charge you $250 for “white glove” service - guys came in some king of trunk, the way they are handling furniture… OMG!! And again, they charged us $250 but WE HAD TO PY CRANE AND PEOPLE TO GET FURNITURE IN! Costumer service - 0...
Read moreCrate and Barrel is my first choice when it comes to the furniture shopping. The quality is always great. But recently , at the Old Orchard location as well as C&B online shopping experience has been frustrating. I ordered an expensive office chair online , they never sent me any updates regarding the shipping or possible delay. On their website it says "available", but after waiting for a month, I called and was explained that the chair is still at the warehouse and C&B doesn't know when I can expect it to be shipped. I had to cancell my order. When the stores re-opened, I went to the Old Orchard location and asked about the same chair and if it is available . I was told that yes, I can place an order and it will arrive in about 2-3 weeks. So I did just that. The time passed and again I haven't received updates regarding the delivery. I called the store and one of the associates told me he has no additional information or means to contact the warehouse to find out what is going on. Why did they gave me this time frame then, if no one knows what is happening with their product? I was told to "keep calling" in a week or so and if it doesnt arrive, just cancell it. Well, thanks for all the assisstance you don't provide. It's not OK to charge $800 for the chair and tell your customer just sit and wait and...
