I would not recommend any service from Norfolk GM. They used to just cost me money and aggravation, but every time I interact with them they exceed my lowest expectations...
On-site spray on bed liner - At just over 2 years after application I called to inquire about a garden rake that was peeling the bed liner off of the pickup bed. I was told that the defect was my fault. The 2-year-old bedliner, which had all but zero use in that time, could not withstand a garden rake (on a side note, the bed liner continues to deteriorate with no use of the pickup bed).
Be sure that if you have a warranty or credited services (e.g., free oil changes) you remind them every possible chance (e.g., before, during, and before paying for any service), as they seem to forget every time. It is strange, though, that if you ever mention a warranty or service owed to you, they'll wish you a good day and tell you you're good to go without even confirming that they had made a mistake.
Long story as short as possible: a couple weeks before the snow storm that started 2024, and shut down most of the state, I took my vehicle to Norfolk GM due to it being the closest GM-certified repair shop for me, and so many services would be covered under my vehicle certified pre-owned warranty. When Norfolk GM got back to me about the issue, they said it would take a couple of weeks to get the parts in, but reassured me that the vehicle could be utilized in the meantime. I was hesitant about the issue and still driving it, and since a paid-for loaner vehicle would be covered under the warranty, I asked multiple times if Norfolk GM was certain that my vehicle could continue to be driven without issue. Every time I was reassured that there would be no problem.
Fast forward a couple of weeks, the day before the huge snowstorm, and my vehicle completely fails in the early afternoon in Omaha, where I work during the week. When I called Norfolk GM, after going through multiple tiers, I was eventually routed to "the highest person available." The individual, who was a vice-something, said that what he could do for me would be for *me to contact a dealership in Omaha, have them tow my vehicle to their dealership, have them provide me a loaner vehicle, and have them fix my vehicle. When I noted that Norfolk GM and their mechanical direction was the cause of the issue, and asked how they would help me out with this, the individual's response was "I just told you." His "helping" was him telling me to get another dealership to solve the problem. No offer was made to attempt to reach another shop, tow services, or even an "I'm sorry, we were wrong."
By this time, it was after hours, and the other dealership was closed. So, I paid to have the vehicle towed to the other dealership. The next day, that dealership closed immediately in the morning due to the extreme weather moving in, so I paid for a rental car to get home.
When the Omaha dealership got to tearing into my engine, they told me on multiple occasions that my vehicle should never have left Norfolk GM's shop.
I don't know if I ever want a Chevy again, even though I've driven them my whole life, but if I ever do buy one again it will be from Woodhouse Chevrolet Omaha 🙌. Also, Hertz went out of their way to get me a rental right before they closed that morning due to the storm🙌.
Norfolk GM, on the other hand, gave me bad mechanical direction, went back on their statements, and would have cost me $2,832.27 in preventable damages to my vehicle if not for my certified pre-owned warranty. Not to mention, because my preventable breakdown putting me back an entire day, I got to drive through one of the most life-threatening storms in recent history (a 2-hour trip was turned into a 6-hour trip) during which, on multiple occasions, I was in actual fear for making it...
Read moreAnother update, about a month later My wife received a call from one of the managers and it seemed like they were going to try to somewhat make things right and reimburse us for part of the amount that we paid. "The check is in the mail," she was told, and somewhat unsurprisingly, we've received nothing after a few weeks. What an embarrassment of a business. Stay far away. Update 4 days later We brought my vehicle into another local shop and didn't specify what specific repairs were suggested. We were asked if any service had recently been done. Not only were the suggested repairs unnecessary, but several bolts were not tightened leaving my car "completely unsafe to drive." They did a simple alignment. We brought my vehicle in to check out potential suspension issues, as well as an oil/filter/brake fluid flush service. Our appointment was first thing in the morning on Friday. We were given a list of issues and a quote on the price at around 10am. At 5pm, we hadn't received word as to when the vehicle would be ready. We were told that "unfortunately the vehicle was not quite done," but would easily be ready on Saturday. No big deal. We hadn't heard anything on Saturday, so called again at lunch time. "They're at lunch but I'll have someone call you back." No one called, so we called again at 2:30 when we were already out. Nobody could be found to answer our question. The lady answering the phones told us "unfortunately that's the best I can do." At this point, we're getting pretty frustrated. We stopped in and finally found someone to answer our question. The car was nowhere close to finished and wouldn't be ready until Tuesday, possibly Wednesday, along with $800 more in repairs than we were quoted for. We need our second vehicle so said enough is enough, and ended up paying $400 in labor to do not even half the work despite having the car for 2 days. Needless to say, we're going elsewhere for this and any future...
Read moreHad a transmission fluid leak took it to get it fixed cause I didn’t have time or the place atm and they said it was going to $1500 total to fix. They wanted to replace all the fittings, lines etc. I took it home power washed it & diagnosed it. It was a small leak from a being rubbed against the crossmember on the cooler line “non-pressure” not the transmission lines themselves. Took the line off bronze welded it put it back on with some rubber around it to prevent it rubbing again. In total no parts needed and a two hour job. I do not and will never recommend this place to anyone...
