I went in on a Friday to return two shirts and couldn't find anyone on the second floor. This is not hyperbole. There were no employees on the entire second floor. The escalator to the third floor was down (and had been since I purchased the shirts about a week before- they direct you to an elevator far in the corner of the building- ugh).
When I got to the third floor, I finally found one employee who was able to process my return. When I informed the employee that I couldn't find anyone on the second floor, she told me I was wrong and that there were several employees down there- she listed three or four names. I told her rather than arguing with me, it might be more helpful to accept the feedback from a customer and move forward, and she gave me the stink eye!
Anyway, this was on 6/9. It is now 6/20 and I have yet to receive the refund on my card. I tried calling Macy's earlier today but their phone system is set up to hang up on you if you dial 0 looking for an operator. You know, like everyone on earth does.
0/10. Macy's has a premiere name but they're certainly not living up to it at the Emerald Square Mall...

The attitude of sales staff in the shoe department and Lancome was that of someone that couldn't care less to offer assistance. At the shoe department, I was looking for a particular sandal that was advertised on sale. The clerk said she didn't know if they had any at this store and then just stood there...saying nothing. 🙄 At the Lancome counter, I asked for a particular eye pencil. I was informed that it was discontinued and the sales clerk walked away, not offering a suggestion of a different pencil. My friend and I were the only customers at the counter, so it wasn't as if she was busy. The only salesperson that my friend and I spoke with was at the Clinique counter. She was friendly, professional, dressed impeccably and had a great personality. Though neither of us made a purchase, she gave us her full attention and really knew...
Read moreGoing to Macy's in the Emerald Square Mall was a very pleasant surprise. I had purchased boots online from Macy's. The fit was tight & instead of paying to return them by mail I went to the store. It's been over 20 years since I physically stepped into the mall. What a great experience. The parking was close & convenient. The store itself was bright, open & attractive. The shoe department was easy to find. As soon as I approached the cash register, a very nice salesperson was on her way to greet me. The return went quickly & smoothly. I had only been in the store for 10 minutes. For the next 45 minutes my husband & I leisurely strolled back to the entrance. We purposely wound our way through several departments attracted by the beautiful displays. I actually had a hard time getting my husband out of the watch & jewelry area. Now that was stunning because my husband hates to go into retail stores. So pleased with...
