The facility itself is nice, it's clean and there are good climbs. My issue is largely with one of the employees, who I assume is a manager. He wouldn't let my dad use his own harness, I guess because it didn't look familiar and he didn't understand it, or he thought it was too old. It's been used for years with no problems both outdoors and at this gym, perfectly fine for top roping. In and of itself, not a big deal, and they gave us a harness to use this time. Next, we told them two of us needed to be belay certified, they told us the next certification was at 6:00 (about 25 minutes from our current time), we just climbed in the mean time. 6:00 came and went, so about 6:10 we went to the front desk where all employees were on their phones and asked when the class would start. The employee I mentioned earlier says the next class is at 7:00. We said "seriously!?" He said "Yeah certification classes start at the top of the hour". We said, "But we told you we wanted to be certified at 6:00" he says, "You didn't come in to tell us you were ready". We didn't realize we needed to help him do his job since he couldn't be bothered to get off his phone for a few minutes, unbelievable. Thankfully one of the other employees was willing to come do our certification, but his smug arrogance is enough to keep me from coming back. That, and I don't love that they only have an all day pass. I don't want to stay all day, I just want to climb for a...
Read moreWe're just passing through Logan, stopped for a few hours of morning climbing. It's not a big place but they use the space well with many routes and the wall footprint overall. Never felt crowded but if there were 12 or more pairs of climbers it might get cozy. Loved how smooth the day pass setup is, loved the holds and permanent features on the walls! The inside/outside corners, the overhanging routes accessible for top-rope, and the hand crack were all great. I especially liked the... If you'd call them mini-jugs? Not flat on top like a crimp but not large, on some of the 5.10 routes, they were just right. Also some fun holds for kids and childish adults like us, dragonflies and dinosaurs and coral textured holds. Felt safe the whole time, good ropes, solid holds, deep mats for bouldering. Will stop again if we come this way again and would recommend to anyone. Only complaint would be the lighting, and maybe the wall color combined with lighting because it made some hold colors hard to see, and the overhead lights sometimes casting shadows or poor contrast but otherwise perfect routes, holds, staff, and shop merchandise were...
Read moreElevation Rock Gym is amazing! The climbing walls are fantastic and have so many different routes for all levels of experience! They also have bouldering which is a lot of fun as well! Our group decided to get a day pass, so we went for a couple hours in the morning, left for lunch, and then we were able to just walk back in, grab more gear, and continue climbing later in the afternoon which was such a fun option for us, and really helped us feel like we were able to get our money's worth of climbing in! They have the option to rent all the gear there, so even those who don't own the gear and may have no experience have the chance to try it out! You can take an hour long class right before you climb to become belay certified, or they have quite a few auto belay systems that have some very fun routes if you are going alone or if you don't want to have to take the belay certification class beforehand. All the staff there was amazing! They were so kind to help whenever we needed and were great teachers! They were fun to talk with and gave great pointers! We had such a fun time and would definitely recommend!! Can't wait...
