I visited the print department to print one page from a file on a thumb drive. The two self serve copy machines that I am well versed in using would not read the thumb drive. My first thought was that the thumb drive was faulty even though I had just uploaded the file from my lap top. The print dept associate helped me and offered to check using he counter PC. She was able to pull it right up and made a print for me. So far so good. Then at the check out as I was going to pay, I saw the .80 cent charge for one color page blink on the screen and turn to $5.00. As I was staring trying to understand what I was seeing, she said we charge a minimum of $5 for any full service work. I walked out Answer Subject: Complaint Regarding Unclear Pricing and Service at the Print Department
I visited the print department today with the intent of printing a single page from a file on my thumb drive. Despite my familiarity with the two self-service copy machines available, neither was able to read the thumb drive. Initially, I suspected the thumb drive might be defective, although I had just transferred the file from my laptop.
The print department associate assisted by checking the file on the counter PC, successfully accessing it and printing the page. This service was satisfactory until the checkout process. As I was preparing to pay, I observed the price for the single color page escalate from $0.80 to $5.00 on the screen. This sudden change was confusing, and as I was attempting to understand it, the associate informed me of a minimum charge of $5.00 for any full-service work.
I left the store without the page copy and...
Read moreThis branch is tired and dirty. The store is chronically understaffed. Those who remain are seldom present with minimal knowledge when they are present. We typically drive the extra 40 minutes to the Myrtle Beach location if we need any sort of expertise. On our last visit the only employee we saw was the cashier. Tech center employees appeared once we entered the check out line. The information stickers and placards were missing from some of the printers with no help to be found which meant locating model numbers on many items, then looking them up on line using our phone. We intended to buy an extended warranty for our new printer but the lone cashier didn't know the first thing about how warranties were handled and claimed the new printer had no warranty unless we purchased one. He also had a hard time communicating and had to ask him several times to speak up. It was obvious from a distance he hated his job and didnt want to be there. Sadly, our last few trips to this branch were similar. If you need something small and quick, this place is okay but if you need expert, experienced advice, you won't...
Read moreI was shopping for some furniture when I encountered Leanne Daniels, whose business card ID's her as a Funiture Consultant. Well, she is more than a consultant with her pleasurable personality and her outstanding customer service. She answered all questions and had definitely great patience with me as I browsed the displays. Normally, I would not prefer consistent customer intervention, but she made it so easy and actually guided me to my final purchase. Great customer service and natural ability in helping and making a purchase. Office Depot better keep this lady ... just overall pleasure to deal and talk with and so accommodating . Definitely will be back and now know who to consult at this store location. I'm in the management end of service with my position, and outstanding customer service needs to be rewarded.
