BEWARE OF KOHLâS CASH!!!! IT CAN MAKE YOU PAY FOR SHOPPING WITH KOHLâS!!!
Kohlâs cash is given as a reward when you purchase an item. Lets say you have a 30% off coupon, and you purchase an item that is on sale at 75.00. You get the 30% off making the item 52.50. This gives you $10 Kohlâs cash to spend the next week. (If you return the item and you havenât used the Kohlâs cash, you get the full money back and they just take away your Kohlâs Cash, which makes perfect sense.)
However, lets say you went shopping and purchased another item at 75.00 and you have a 30% coupon to use again and you want to use your Kohlâs Cash. They deduct the Kohlâs Cash of $10 prior to applying the 30% off coupon so now you are paying 45.50 for the item. Still a deal but it means you really only earned $7 Kohlâs Cash, not $10. Deceptive.
Now, youâve had a change of heart on the first purchase. When you go to return it, you are told since you used the $10 Kohlâs Cash, you are refunded only 42.50. (that really only amounted to $7). Deceptive.
If you have a change of heart on the second purchase, when you go to return it, you will be given the full amount you paid for that purchase back plus $10 Kohlâs Cash to use. This would appear to be a fair resolution except their seems to be no consistent date for how long that Kohlâs Cash is good for! Iâve had them tell me I had to use it in a week and anywhere up to a year. Most frequently, the Kohlâs Cash I am refunded expires before I can use it. That is where the deceptive trade practice becomes most obvious.
So where are we on what we spent in the example and what we got back in the example? Paid 52.50, got back 42.50. Paid 45.50 get 45.50 back plus 10 Kohlâs cash to spend, which expired. Therefore, the result is that you paid Kohlâs $10 to shop with them! Deceptive trade practices.
I am sure most folks havenât caught on to this. I donât know about other shoppers, but I canât shop at a store that uses deceptive...
Read moreMe and my husband went here last night for Christmas Pjs because a friend had given me a 25% off coupon. Everything was fine until we went to check out. The check out lady asked if I had a kohls membership card and I said no, she tried getting me to sign up and I said Iâm not interested because I donât really shop there and she apparently didnât like that answer. She was the most combative employee Iâve seen in any department store. I handed her the 25% off FRIENDS AND FAMILY coupon and she started questioning me where I got it from. I told her a friend gave it to me and she said itâs membership only and I canât have it unless I get a kohls card. Are you kidding me? I told her I didnât understand how itâs membership only when the coupon is on their website for everyone to use and she told me to pull it up bc she didnât believe me so I did. I showed it to her she said âsee?â And then scanned it and said what my total was. Didnât say much of anything after that. I didnât really ever shop at kohls anyway but I will never go back to another one if this is the kind of treatment Iâll receive for spending my money there. I was so confused and still am as to why she fought me so hard on the coupon. After she scanned the same exact coupon on my phone she told me only members with kohls are allowed to have physical coupons. Now I doubt she was telling the truth, I donât know what her problem was. I was having a good night. I was perfectly pleasant bc I work in customer service so I get it but that was just not ok. She needs to go through training on how to treat customers because if she did that to me sheâs gonna do it to someone else whoâs not gonna be as nice as I was. I assume she was just mad I didnât want...
Read moreHazel at customer service was very rude to me during my return. I wanted to return some items that I bought today at the Lake Worth Kohlâs and re-purchase it again with a few more items that were from this location. I explained to Hazel why I wanted to do this because on âRetail Me Notâ they offer a $15 cash back when you spend $75 and I didnât notice the offer until afterwards. When I told her this she said âweâre not doing any coupons this weekâ I told her it is not a coupon, itâs a cash back deal offered by âRetail me notâ she then demanded that I show her the barcode for the âcouponâ and I told her once again it is not a coupon, itâs a cash back deal when you link your credit card. She then asked me, rudely, when I bought the items that I wanted to return and re-purchase. I told her I just bought them today. She then gets called on her walkie talkie and she tells them she canât come over because my transaction is going to take a really long time (rudely). She process to dump my items out of the bags while handling them like they are contaminated. She does the return and doesnât tell me until after that my clearance items that I bought at Lake Worth would not ring up the same price because the stores price them differently. I ended up canceling the whole thing. Hazel definitely needs to learn how to properly speak and deal...
