Costume Zone and Vintage — Local services in Oceanside

Im going to share my experience with costume zone. I live the area and needed a costume for a halloween party. I came upon this store and needed something at the last minute. The store was kinda old which I didn't mind but smelled a tad moldy. Looked at their selection of costumes. They had ones you could rent or buy new. The ones for rent look like they had been there for decades. They were all very old and the the white clothing items had started to turn that brownish color you see with older clothing. So refusing to wear something I deemed unsanitary I went for the new packages items. I saw a mask that I very much liked "they have some awesome masks" and decided to buy a Cape. It was near closing so after browsing for 30 mins that's what I went with. I take the items home and try them on for the party. The Cape must have been manufactured wrong because it would not fit me or my son. Im not big at all, I'm 5"7 so if it didn't fit me it couldn't be one size fit all like the packaging says. Took the Cape back to costume zone to at least get it switched out but they explained to they didn't do refunds or exchanges even tho nobody could fit it due to the manufacturing error. I didn't make a scene or argue, I just decided that they would never get any of my business again and wanted to inform others. I found this store to be dusty and dirty, they had so much stuff I'm suprised anyone was looking at it. The owner doesn't really speak English, and they have a no refunds or return policy in which there seemed no where to try anything on, since one side of the store is costumes and the other seems to be vintage items, which makes no sense to me. Walked in today to find something for the Renaissance fair..was scrolling on my own looking around, probably looking confused and lost. Owner asks if I needed help/what I'm looking for and he certainly did within like 5 minutes. He helped me find 2 cloaks of different styles which all fit my short 4'11" size. Very sweet and a lot of merchandise to scroll through....
