Mermaid's Folly — Local services in Ocracoke

Mermaid's folly is one of my favorite shops. After the huge hurricane ripped Ocracoke year before last, I wondered what happened to it. When we went there last weekend, we saw it has been restored. It took more than a year! Lots of hard work. But as before the items there are such a pleasure to look at, and choose. All are beautiful and artistic and flowing. Great tees showing island themes, beautiful fabrics with batiks and dreamy cottons. Definitely glad...

I highly recommend adding Mermaid's Folly to your list of places to stop on Ocracoke. The store has been overhauled and looks awesome! They have a really nice selection of clothes, bags, hats, gifts, etc. The staff is helpful and friendly. And it's conveniently located near Silver Lake, so it's easy to walk to a bunch of other shops that are right nearby. It also has a good size parking lot, which is helpful when parking is scarce...

We stopped in late on November 24th after the lil boat parade. The Woman and Ollie we're Great! They stayed open to let My Wife and Sister In Law shop! The Hand-Made Seaglass windchimes were a hit! They wrapped them well for our Journey Home and Ollie Even offered us a Hand to the car if Needed.. Awesome...
