The Rusted Spoon (Ogden, UT) - looking for breakfast options in Ogden, so we tried this place. and im SO GLAD we did, because the food was bombbbbbb! I was expecting diner quality, but was blown away by how great the food was! and the price 😳😍😍😍 we about to go there for every meal to save money lol. The restaurant is pretty spacious, booths are comfortable. it was not overcrowded at all. the service was great and our waitress was awesome! definitely going back 🙌🏾🙌🏾 📍1310 Wall Ave Ogden, UT 84404 #utaheats #localeats #ogdeneats #willdriveforfood #foodie #fatfoodie #polynesianfoodie #tonganfoodie

I reached out to the company directly before posting my review of their company online to see if they would make it right, shocker they didn’t. I recently visited Rusted Spoon on 2/23/2025 and experienced several issues that I feel need to be addressed. First, there was a clear discrepancy between the prices listed on your menu and the amount I was charged per the receipt. What?! You’re not going to have your wait staff say anything to the customers when they are looking at the menu. The listed price was $8.49 for two egg breakfast and $11.49 for 3 egg BYO Skillet, but I was charged $12.98 for two egg breakfast and $15.99 for 3 egg BYO Skillet, instead. Plus, if you look online at their menu their pricing is also different. This practice is not only misleading but also illegal under consumer protection laws, as businesses are required to honor the prices they advertise. In addition to the pricing issue, the service during my visit was extremely disappointing. We waited nearly 45 minutes for meals that were not complex (food was subpar), and during that time, our waitress never checked in on us. There was no real customer service, nor did management on-site offer any support or assistance. This lack of attention and care made the experience even more frustrating. I was told by the manager on duty since eggs are up that’s the reason for the price increase which I let her know that it was not my problem, but they needed to clearly define their prices on the menu for the consumers. Then she let me know that new menus are being printed which is poor business management. I don’t understand how a company can imply that it’s the consumers fault for not reading their little signs not clearly posted that their increase in prices. My niece gave them a zero out of zero and I stand with her on that grading system. I’m shocked that they are still in business. I would never ever eat or support this business, EVER.

Prices are wrong, food is bad, blames customers. This used to be one of my favorite spots, (I will even attach my review from six years ago that I will now delete) but things have seriously gone downhill over the past year. I wasn’t even planning to leave a review, but then I saw “mad guest” printed on my receipt… so, sure. I guess I’ll be that “mad guest.” Truth is, I wasn’t mad—I was actually polite and just mentioned that our food should probably be shown to a manager. The country fried steak was completely dried out, burnt, and tough. It looked and tasted like it had been cooked yesterday and microwaved today. My eggs were supposed to be over hard, but came out over easy/medium. I ended up filling up on toast, hash browns, and the extra sausage my daughter didn’t want. That’s not exactly what I came for. When I brought it up, the server told us the cooks are new and “getting better.” Respectfully… how long does that take? Because the quality has been sliding for a while now. Also—just a heads-up—don’t rely on the menu prices. What you see is not what you’ll pay. The prices on the menu aren’t accurate, and your total will be more once it’s rung up. Would’ve been nice to know that ahead of time. This isn’t just one off-day—it’s a pattern. I really used to love this place, but it’s just not the same anymore. I hope they can turn it around, but for now, I’ll be taking my appetite elsewhere.

Wow. Yeah. Loved the one up in Perry. What a massive disappointment. Waited 20 mins to be seated. Okay cool, totally reasonable. Then waited 20 mins to be greeted by our server. ...less acceptable, but okay. Maybe they were just busy. Then after 30 mins, I had to get up and go to the front desk and tell our server we were ready to order. Made our order. Server couldn't answer basic questions, like how much French toast is in a side, or how much is in a full special order. ....okay.... Made our order. It was a little busy, so we figured it would be a few mins wait. No biggie. So we waited....

....and waited.... ....and waited... ....and waited...

So after waiting 45 mins, we decided to again stand up and go over to our server who hadn't check in on us AGAIN this whole time. People had come in after us, ordered, ate, and left already.

Our server gave non committal responses about how everyone is served in order and blamed the kitchen and took zero responsibility.

If you're doing the math so far, it's 20 mins to be seated, 30 mins to order, and 45 to find out it's still not done. So we ended up waiting OVER 1.5 hours to NOT eat yet. It's out anniversary today, we didn't plan to celebrate by spending all day being ignored in a restaurant. This is the ONE SINGLE day, both my wife and I have been able to get away, and it's wasted away because of terrible service and us being too nice to have left sooner.

We got up and left. We were literally walking out the door to go somewhere else when another server said the food was almost ready and asked if we wanted it to go.

Like...really? Is this really how y'all wanna run a legit business?

Screw this. I'm making this review at the Perry location (which has already been 10x better and 20x faster). Never again...

My family apparently loves this place, & comes here so much, the waitress has their orders down, so that part's nice, but this is my personal experience & review, of my first time here:

The waitress was very forgetful, had to ask her twice, about hot chocolate, also didn't see the very empty glass of water, right in front of her, for 3-4 visits, then after promising water, proceeded to forget it, again.

The oatmeal was HELLA MUSHY, & the toast was rock hard, also buttered, on the wrong damn side; the toast was also cold, because the butter didn't melt on it. Non-appetizing.

Beware of the women's bathroom - it is a DEATH TRAP!!! Wanna slip & fall & break your hip or leg? My mom said the owners just remodeled it, well, their design for the sink area, was really poorly planned out. Water water EVERYWHERE!!!!! Slip hazard & just messy terribleness.

The owner's kids, moonshine as bussers; at first it's kinda cute, but tiny children bussing tables, is actually kinda weird, & unsanitary. Wanna know what else is unsanitary? The owner also (or so I'm told, or at least, an employee), putting an infant's diapered ass, on top a table, then the tiny children, kinda sorta wiping the table down, but.......not really. Yummm....I always hope, there was previously a wet soggy or maybe, poopy diaper, right where my food is placed, or my silverware.

Yeah so, as a first time patron, hearing that this restaurant is awesome - from family members who live in Ogden & eat here, OFTEN, I was sooo not impressed. I normally give 4-5 star reviews, unless something is just really bad, & this restaurant, has lot of really bads. *I do want to say, as well, around 11-ish am, it really...
