Soooo had a wonderful time (for the most part) celebrating my cousin’s birthday at the The Candle Studio, was not interested at all in making candles, barely burn them but looked forward to time with the family. Anyway, had a decent time there despite our host who finally seating us after 30 minutes, got us started with the process which turned out to be considerably longer than what we thought it would be as we were going to eat afterwards. (The young lady who acutally worked us through the process was great). Due to the length of time it took us to complete the candle making process, we were told we would have to pick up our candles the next day. Ok, no problem, fortunately the one person that was with us from out of town made the body/room spray so she was able to take her purchase with her. One cousin did mention to the person who claimed to be the owner that she was not as attentive to our party of 13 as she was to some of the other parties and I don’t think that feedback was well received. Hence, the next day when my cousin (who was the one celebrating her birthday), went to retrieve our purchases, was totally disrespected. She had informed them that she would be picking up all of our purchases the next day, apparently they had a problem locating them because THEY misspelled her name AND had not put all our purchases together as they were supposed to. I can’t go into detail of what transpired because I was not there, but this “so called owner” resorted to calling my cousin all kinds of “B words”, then called the police who also told the “so called owner”, she was causing more of a disruption than my cousin! During all this, my cousin called us on a group call while in the cold outside of the store to discuss the situation, a different person comes outside claiming to be the owner now (I believe she was the mother of the other person claiming to be the owner) and gives us a “fake” apology for all the confusion. I say “fake” because she then tells the police officer (after our call) to inform my cousin that we are not welcome back…as if we would EVER want to go back!! I am very particular about where I want to spend my little coins and certainly not with our so called people who would dare disrespect me and my family, at this point I really just wanted my money back as opposed to the freaking candles that I may never burn (they did smell good though, so maybe I will). Read moreI’m sorry and usually I mind my business but the review from * MsRhonnie *is completely untrue. I actually came online to give The Candle Studio a good review. I was in this business establishment when this lady came in The Candle Studio. The owner handled this the best way she could and the CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT! I was there making a candle having a wonderful experience and “her cousin” came in being disrespectful to a white employee calling her dumb and refused to give the names of the people who’s candles she was picking up. I WAS THERE! The owner came and tried to rectify the situation but she started telling the owner she didn’t appreciate that she didn’t check on her party the day prior. The lady was very rude to the owner AND the other employee . The owner stood up for her employee as she should and the “cousin” became more upset. The owner was trying to diffuse the situation at this point and even offered to refund the entire party. IT WASNT ENOUGH! After the owner came to each guest and apologized for the behavior of the guest she also said she would comp our bill and the other guest. THIS MADE THE lady extremely upset. The owner then asked her to leave and she refused and the owner called the police. The police came and the lady was escorted out by Orange Police and eventually left in the back of a squad car. Please do not bash this business or the owner. She handled this situation very well and with class. I never heard her call her out of her name. She was mortified that the “cousin” was acting the way she was. She made sure she protected the customers and employees. Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. The owners of this establishment are very very unprofessional. My cousin wanted to do something fun and different for birthday so she made a reservation for party of 12 to make candles. We were told to arrive on time for our reservation which we did. When we got there our table wasn’t ready because the place is so small and they over booked but we waited patiently for them to put our table together. After 30 minutes we finally sat down to make our candles etc. The drinks were flat and the owners had a very bad attitude because we sent the drinks back. We were told at the end we can pick up the items we paid for the very next day. So, my cousin arrived at the location to pick up our items and the owner said she could not pick up my items. My cousin explained to her that she was told she can pick up everyone's items. The owner became belligerent and started calling her B’s in front of other customers and called the police on her just because she wanted to pick up our items. I would suggest anyone to find any place to patronize because the owners of this establishment are very unprofessional and don't have class. The only professionals were the staff.
