I have dine at the Cleveland location on numerous occasions. Initially the service was slow, but it improved with some time. I've visited with small groups as well as large groups. My first sign of trouble was back in February, 2023 when an ERG from my job made a reservation for 19 people for a linked up event and when we arrived they told us that they didn't have a reservation, even though our contact person had been speaking with their private party coordinator for a couple days making the arrangements. You would think I would have learned then, but I didn't. After that, I often made reservations and went to the Sunday Brunch. I should have known it was going to good for a few months. All of a sudden, my reservations started getting cancelled. I didn't contact them on the first cancellation but I reached out to the manager on the second cancellation (which was an absolute waste of time)! At that time, he said he had no explanation as to why the reservation was cancelled but he would make sure that never happened again. He was very dismissive, unconcerned and eager to end the call. Well very next reservation was also cancelled. I called in again, this time, they took a message for a manager to call me back (he never did). I looked for a corporate number and the young lady gave me an email address to someone she said was a regional manager of the location. I sent him an email. He responded about 2-4 days later with 3-4 words. I'll call you Monday. I heard from him on Tuesday, only for him to tell me he use to work at the Cleveland location but he's at another location but he would pass my email on to Nate at the Cleveland location. Nate at the Cleveland location called me today, which was a waste of time. As I stated I have made numerous reservations so I'm very much aware of the process, I know they send a text message confirmation and you have to replay, like I told him, on the reservations that were cancelled, I never received the confirmation text messages, I only received the cancellation email. He goes on to tell me that all he can tell me is what he has in front of him and it shows that I marked X in the text message cancelling the reservations. Now what puzzles me is, when I talked to the first manager, he had no clue why the reservations were cancelled but today all of a sudden Nate has cancelled text messages, don't you think the first manager would have seen that as well. Another insult to my intelligence! Then he says, I want to make sure we have the correct telephone number and email for you. Let's see...I told you I received a cancellation email from you all, that would indicate you have the correct email address and you said I responded with an X to the confirmation text message, that would indicate you have the correct telephone number. His call was a waste of time! It's so unfortunately, that they treat consumers with such disrespectful treatment but still expect us to continue to support their business and return to their establishment. Well not me. There are so many other establishments that I would rather support than one that clearly have no respect for me or money hard earned money that I've spent at their...
Read moreThe positives: Clean bowling lanes and sitting area, up to date machines/tech, food was decent?
Cons = My experience. I walk in to celebrate my brothers birthday with his friends, we had a reservation at 3 pm on a Sunday. The hostess was so rude for no reason? Why? We showed up early around 2:40p to check in and set up the lanes before his other friends arrived. We had a party of about 12. The hostess or girl at the front desk at this time seemed so irritated by us as soon as we walked in. Like had an attitude and I felt SO unwelcome like she had something better to do - and no one was behind us in line. She started by saying their computers were down last night and so that somehow affected us? She asks how many people, we said 10 to 12 people. And she goes ‘well I need to know because it’s charged per person’ with so much attitude. Like were we supposed to know that? She couldn’t explain it to us we were so bothersome? And then she says “you guys don’t have to do the full two hour reservation” and we were like uhh we want to bowl two hours I guess why not? And she then says ok it’s going to be $480 ….. TO BOWL! In 2 lanes! Not including food or ANYTHING. She walks us to the lane, and I had to ask her if we could cut it down to one hour and refund my brother half. Because I had to ask her after we paid “how much is it per person?” And she said it was $20 per person per hour. So yeah. She thankfully refunded him the half. So thank you to her for that. The service - we never got enough cups for water. Like four glass cups for the 12 of us… so my brother and his friend had to walk over to this bar area and grab cups for everyone. Our server was nice, you can just tell there is a lot of miscommunication and staff turnover because no one knows what’s going on. I want to emphasize that. Some really nice man helped us finally put the bumpers on for the lane. I asked one person and he told me “it’s on the screen” and walked away… like I didn’t already try to find it? My pigs in a blanket were very greasy I didn’t eat them. They didn’t even tell us to grab shoes or anything we had to ask if we should grab our own shoes? Maybe this was a terrible day for them, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. But god will I NEVER go back. And I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
My brother and his friends were very respectful, they are very good kids. Didn’t come all at once and were not obnoxious. Also, for our party size they added 20% to everyone’s tip just a heads up (understandable imo). I wish we just went to some cheap bowling alley and got pizza. The cost to bowl at pinstripes is...
Read moreThis was not my first visit to Pinstripes, however, this was my first bowling experience. While my other dining experiences here were just okay (literally okay and nothing to rave about). This by far was the WORST experience.
While checking in, the bowling staff were very vague when responding to our questions and concerns in regards to the time limit and costs. We had a large party and wanted to make sure everything was clear to our group. Instead we were met with disregarded responses. If this was not for the celebration of my nephews birthday and a severe snow outside, we would have left. However, we decided to make the most of it on this snowy Sunday.
The bowling staff disregarded our concerns or help at all when it came to the issues we had with our lanes. It took our AMAZING waiter, Mecca, to get her manager involved to have our lanes switched. We also had the issue of bowling balls being stuck and we had to run to locate the staff to help which always took more than 5 minutes. So very frustrating to say the least.
We ordered wings and of course we expected some sort of dipping sauce such as Ranch or Blue Cheese. Well, no we did not receive either as they ran out of both. Crazy but yes. Additionally, they were all out of lemonade so they only option for the kids were orange juice, apple or pineapple.
The elevators were out of order to reach the second floor. Glad we did not have anyone in our party with any disabilities. Yes, there is one restroom on the first floor but every time we went to use that one it was occupied.
Once we were done bowling, we were approached by the staff about needing the lanes right away as they had another reservation. I understand the clean-up time but I find it quite rude to rush a group of 15 with small kids when we just finished. I could see if we were sitting and mingling but we were getting the kids together.
While, I understand we are in a Pandemic and staff is short everywhere, as a customer I do expect to be treated nicely with quality service. There were only 3 staff members that were kind, while I cannot remember two of their names. I can say for sure Mecca was great as she was our waiter and we interacted with her the most. The service was not great, Mecca could not attend to our group the entire time as she was assisting other parties but the staff who brought out our food were just not helpful when we asked for additional plates, napkins, boxes. Everything was so delayed and eventually we had to just wait until Mecca came...
