Bassett Furniture — Local services in Orem

When you go to the typical furniture store you are limited to a handful of fabrics available on various styles of furniture on the showroom floor - all from different manufactures with questionable types of wood. With Bassett, you decide what style furniture you want - from length, depth, etc. and you are NOT limited to a handful of fabrics. In addition, you are purchasing quality wood furniture that will last! Along with the ample supply of shapes, sizes and fabrics, you also work with a designer. Thanks to Shelly, the designer I worked with at Bassett, my living room and master bedroom are now furnished with quality furniture in the shape, size and colors that she helped me choose. Shelly came out to the house to measure my living room and bedroom space and listened to my likes and dislikes about colors and styles. She then went back to her store and came up with a design plan that included furniture and accessory pieces and where they'd be placed and picked out fabrics for me to start with including area rugs that would complement the space. We met back at the Orem store a few days later and went through her recommendations. Shelly was on target with everything - the size of the furniture, color scheme, etc. My living room and master bedroom look fabulous! One final note - their delivery men were wonderful as well - polite, professional and very patient as I tweaked the placement of furniture while they were still in the house. We ended up at Bassett after exhausting the selection of quality furniture stores in Utah Valley. That's a VERY short list. We've normally gone to some of the smaller quality retailers in SLC, but wanted to try local. I had no idea where to place them in the pantheon of furniture stores. I did not realize it is all semi-custom furniture. We were looking for a sofa, love seat, chair combination for the room attached to the kitchen. It needed to be leather. We very quickly found exactly what we wanted. These days everything is huge pillowed pieces. I don't want the chair to have huge arms 15 inches wide. I want more Contemporary. Clean lines, square edges, comfortable, earth tones. They had it in spades. We chose colors, leather, details. The price was in line with the furniture we were replacing that had served us well for 30 years. It was still as useful as ever, but showed 30 years of use. We've been thrilled with it for the couple years we've owned it. The top quality leather recliners we got the RC Willey have just been horrible, and are more pleather than leather, despite what we were told. It's peeling. That was 2K down the toilet. We've just purchased exactly what we want to replace them and they should be here soon. I'm a happy camper. The only nit was finding we had choices on foam type in the cushions for the chairs and not being told we had them on the other furniture as well. My wife and I are very disappointed with the service that we have been experiencing from Bassett. We bought a couch back before Christmas and were very excited about the purchase. The couch was custom so there was a long wait which was totally understandable. The day after we made the purchase we were called by the sales rep and she let us know that the agreed upon price in the store when purchasing was incorrect. She had miscalculated by about 1k! Ok fine, mistakes happen. So recently the couch was finally delivered and upon arrival realized that the color was wrong. Like not even close!

The delivery guys were great and told us that we could keep the couch until the right couch could be delivered which was nice but still... We waited about 13 weeks to have the first couch delivered but now we're being told that to get the color that we want it will be another 15 weeks!

My wife first called customer service to voice her displeasure about the transaction. She mentioned the initial price quote being 1k off, and then mentioned the wrong color couch being delivered. She was told that a manager would be calling her within a coupe of days. We waited a few days and she never got a call. I decided to call again to reiterate how displeased we were and I was told that I would be getting a call later that day or worst case scenario, the next day. That was about 5 days ago... still waiting for a call.

I am not one to complain, nor one to hastily leave a negative review as mistakes do happen but I feel like we are not being adequately...
