I will start by saying my dress was absolutely gorgeous. I feel it was very unique with beautiful design. I was very pleased at my first fitting, Daisy was very friendly, accommodating and helped me with ordering and scheduling my fittings.
However my rating is low due to the terrible sequence of events that unfolded after. I did my 1st fitting/ordered my dress in Mar. 2022, for a Jan. 2023 wedding. I’m from out of state, and was told this would not be an issue we would just have to plan FAR in advance and order early, which we did. I worked with the shop on scheduling the first fitting for Oct, and the final fitting in Nov per their recommendations. 2 weeks before my first fitting, I called to confirm that everything was still all set for my first fitting- which they said yes. I called again 1 wk out and also reassured all was good. The seamstress texted me the night before confirming our appt.
When I went in for my apt, they told me my dress was NOT there. After much confusion, they told me they are not sure where it was. I asked them why this was not known until this moment, due to me flying in for this appt, they advised this was an error on their part for not confirming the dress was there. The seamstress INSISTED that for my planned travel in Nov, she would work 24/7 and complete all alterations during my visit then. I had to adjust my flights to make sure there were enough days (with fees) to accommodate. They told me they would get in touch with me in the next few days to offer some compensation due to my unnecessary expenses.
The next week no one called me, so I called and left a VM. After a few days of no one returning my call, I called again and spoke to Daisy, who told me she spoke with the owner and they would offer 10% off. I told her I felt this was not adequate, since it would not even cover my original flight expense and I asked to meet with the owner. We set up a call that week, in which I spoke with someone who referred to himself only as the “building owner”, and who said there is nothing to worry about because the dress was now there. He later ended up saying he was a part investor/owner of the business itself. Even though I repeatedly asked for his name, he would not give it. He was extremely dismissive and unresponsive of our concerns. He was telling us this was our fault, that “we don’t want to work with out of town brides for this reason”. He did not take any responsibility for the error of the shop and continued to blame the “war in Ukraine” for material shortages, “China”, me not following through by confirming (which we explained we did multiple times). He went on long irrelevant tangents, and when we tried to explain the situation more, he ignored us and kept ranting. Eventually he hesitantly agreed to 20% comp.
We then began to recap the new plan so there was no confusion and this is when he back tracked, and said there was NO POSSIBLE WAY the seamstress could do the alterations in 1 weekend, which she told me she would/could (b/c the order was close to my size, minimal alterations, and she could prep it before). He told me I had to schedule another trip in Dec/Jan. He said we must have twisted her arm, and now he has to conduct an “investigation” of his staff. There seemed to be a LARGE disconnect between the staff and the management. He ended the call by hanging up on me when I asked to see if I could get an email confirmation.
We immediately found/emailed the Contact Us form on their website summarizing our conversation. Later that night we got a professional response from the designer stating they would honor the 20% discount, and refund the alterations fees, but advised they cannot meet my needs and I need to get altered elsewhere.
I appreciate them honoring the 20% as this did help pay for the unexpected expenses. But I am VERY disappointed with the customer service and disrespect we received from the “part investor”, and do not recommend this shop to my friends. I do not feel any bride needs to have this unnecessary stress when planning...
Read moreplease notice that there are multiple 5 star reviews now after my posting this from random accounts with fake names so this shop can keep their ratings up, what a joke* My initial dress buying appointment was great and I loved the dress I bought. Everything after that was downhill and I have receipts for everything that happened. I was told by Torie when I bought my dress that since I was an out of state bride when I was ready to get fitted, they would be able to do my first fitting, make the alterations, then one week later I would be able to pick my dress up. This was not the case as I ended up having 4 fittings, then my mom had to pick the dress up for me on what would have been the 5th and final fitting. On atleast 4 occasions, staff members here promised to return my phone calls and then never called me back. Once I showed up for a fitting (which involves a 7 hour round trip for me) only to find that my dress had not been altered in any way, and the seamstress Emily told me word for word that she “didnt have time” to make the alterations yet nobody communicated with me so the trip was a waste of time. She promised me at that point that it would be done the following week when I came back. The following week when I called to make sure the dress would be ready, Casey informed me that the seamstress doing my dress no longer worked there and somebody else would be taking the dress over. Torie called the day before my appointment to tell me the dress was all ready except for the sleeves which they would finish the next day. When i came the next day, the dress had multiple alterations needing done, not just the sleeves. They told me to come back later in the day and they promised to have it done. When we came back, the dress still wasnt done. The owner of the store called to “apologize “ and basically gave me a lecture on Covid and blamed Covid for why the dress wasnt done, that the seamstress Emily originally doing my dress was out with Covid, and that her husband was on a ventilator and might not live, trying to make me feel like I had no right to be upset. But Casey had already told me that Emily had been let go. The owner did take off $400 off the dress which was appreciated. On my wedding day, my dress ripped open at the sleeves and I emailed them to ask if they would repair this and nobody ever responded to me. Overall, this shop has beautiful dresses at a fair price but I think the staff needs a lot of work in the customer service department. They make promises that they cannot keep. This shop boasts having a history of hundreds of happy brides, just know that if you arent a happy one, they dont do much to fix the situation other than make excuses. This ruined my dress experience and truly took the joy out of my dress for me, which was very...
Read moreSuch an underwhelming experience. I saw so many great reviews on this location, and I'm just confused as to how everyone had such an amazing time except for me. I was looking forward to visiting and going through the fun of being a bride, but I left feeling my experience was rushed and felt unimportant. My stylist was not kind, was talking over my family members, and to really end the appointment on a bang, she ended up giving me a lecture on my verbiage on why the younger generation shouldn't be saying "no problem" or "no worries".
I was not a big fan of the dress selection. There were a large amount to choose from, but they're all so similar in some type of fashion (hence the one designer, sure). At the very end, I did find a dress that I kind of liked. I was told that we can change things on the dress during alterations, and so I made it a point to acknowledge modifying the neckline slightly. I was pushed to say yes as "it's the only dressed I smiled at while wearing". So I bought the dress.
After not hearing anything from the studio since purchasing the dress, I called in seven months after to schedule a date for alterations, to which I was told it was too early to schedule a date. Called back two weeks later and I got a date confirmed. To be fair, I'm not certain if they would call for any update, but it would be nice to have a quick call informing when the dress was completed and when to consider scheduling an appointment for alterations.
I second-guessed myself with my opinions from my first experience. I thought I just didn't get along with the stylist, and I'd have a better time at my second appointment. When I went to the studio to try on the dress, I made it a point to tell the seamstress that I wanted the neckline modified. The answer given was it couldn't be done, as It wouldn't interfere with the design of the dress. I was then told that I should've said something the my stylist, which I informed her I did. Her response was "well you probably didn't." I mentioned that if it was the small alterations and bustle was all needed, I'd prefer to go to my friend who is a seamstress. I'm giving two stars because the younger employees working there that I interacted minimally with were kind, and I wish my experience would've involved them more.
This just was nowhere near what I expected to experience as a bride, especially with other bridal studios that offer more variety and amenities. I have so many friends that have recently become engaged, and sadly this studio just isn't a place I will...
