Terrible experience. First off the merchandise isnât all that great. Itâs a lot of bootleg things that are marked up. Fan art thatâs most likely stolen from online and turned into buttons and pins without the original artistâs consent. But I found something that looked sort of passable and my boyfriend liked one of the face masks they had on display so he decided to try and buy both objects. However, he only had an 100 dollar bill. Youâd think he asked to receive the items for free based on their reactions. It was a younger brown haired woman and an older woman with graying hair at the desk. They looked at him with an extreme amount of attitude, practically rolling their eyes before informing him that they could not break his bill. There was absolutely no signage that said they couldnât take a certain amount of bills so he had every right to ask if he could pay with that bill and they mocked him for it. And it wasnât like we were making an extremely small purchase either that wouldâve required 90+ dollars. We made a 30+ dollar purchase. Never the less, I stepped in and made the purchase with my card but added a small thing before I paid. My boyfriend asked once more if maybe with that extra item they could maybe now break his bill. Again, they were extremely rude and flippant to him simply replying with âitâs an 100, no we cannot.â At this point I was just very mad and I simply wanted to get out of the store. I paid with my card and the older woman asked me âwould you like to signâ and I said ânoâ because once again they made me so uncomfortable that all I wanted to do was leave. She practically rolled her eyes and said âwell you have to sign.â Iâm fully aware of the fact I have to sign but it was the fact that she had asked me if I would âlike to signâ and that sheâd made me so upset my mind was only focused on getting out of the store. I am not a child who had never paid with a credit card before. That is probably the clientele this store is used to considering their bootleg items. Iâm so sorry that my boyfriend and I wanted to make a purchase at your store. That we inconvenienced you so badly by entering your store and being customers. We promise itâs not a mistake we...
Read moreI brought my daughter in because she wanted to trade in her Attack on Titan Manga books for store credit. She had the series 1-11. The young guy behind the counter said he would give her $11.50. She said that she would look around for something she wanted in trade. She settled on a little gray bunny that was $15.00. I asked the guy behind the counter if he could do an even trade. He said he couldn't. I explained that the mark up on the bunny was probably at least double. They sell the books between $4-$5 each. I understand they have significant overhead. I didn't think my question was unreasonable. The guy started laughing at me. I asked him what he was laughing at? He says you are really trying me. I said I am just asking a question. He said I can authorize 10% off without the manager. I said that's fine. It was better than nothing. His customer service was non existent. I have been in retail for 30 years. If he was my employee he'd be looking for a new job. We won't be back to this store and I certainly won't recommend...
Read moreEcho Arts & Gifts is trying, I will give it credit for that. The staff is nice, but there is a huge problem with the store; the majority of their merchandise consists of cheap knockoffs. If you are looking for things such as Nendoroids, Figmas or plushies, please don't waste your time and money at Echo. The products they have to offer are cheap, poorly done chinese bootlegs that don't even look remotely like the source material. Any serious figure buyer would know better and double check the legitimacy of an item before buying it, but I fear for the causal shoppers who will walk in to Echo and buy something that is a fake. A very easy way to tell whether or not the item you are about to buy is indeed fake is to cross reference with different sites and look online to see how the original is supposed to look. Don't trust boxes with seemingly low rez artwork, and always look for seals of authenticity when shopping for anime merch! Avoid this store if at...
