Palm Springs Car wash — Local services in Palm Springs

We actually passed up the wash, because it didn't look too professional. We came back and pulled up. A gentleman wrote up our receipt and off the car went. It's a 2025 Toyota Highlander (brand new, but got a little dusty, so it didn't look perfect). They washed it by hand - very nice! Rinsed and dried with compressed air. I was very impressed!

I paid for the wash, gave a tip and filled up the tank at the Shell station. Overall, I like the wash a lot. A couple very small complaints.

Someone at the wash had some tan dirt on his shoes. It got on the all weather floor mats and he didn't wipe off the dirt he left behind. The side mirror glass wasn't cleaned very well. It looks like they forgot to wipe it clean. When I looked at the receipt, they charged me for a Large Vehicle - extra charge. This is a Highlander, not a Tahoe or Sequoia. I thought it was wrong to do it, but the extra cost wasn't too much. Still, it's the principle.

Summary: I like the job they did. The site wasn't the best looking, but that doesn't really matter, does it? There were some shady looking people coming in and out of the car wash store (quick mart). Nothing to feel unsafe about, but it doesn't look good. $24 including tip for an external wash and dry. A bit on the high side. And the interior had dirt that wasn't there when the car was brought in.

So, four stars, not five. If they wouldn't have charged the Large Vehicle surcharge, I would've gave them five. And if you have young kids, this may not be the best place...

Searched for a hand wash car service and found this one. Located alongside the gas station, I found that it's a mix of hand and automated. They vacuum out your vehicle, then hand scrub off major grime. It then gets loaded up on a rack to be pulled through the automated car wash and blower. It then proceeds to the hand detailers to get spot dried, tire treatment and interior wiped. Customers can stand on the side and watch the progress or wait in an air-conditioned waiting room behind the gas station. Considering that my vehicle had 6 weeks of traveling dust accumulated on it, I can say it came out pretty decent for the price. Decent car wash. Small and its adjacent to the Shell station so if you need petro might as well. Average car wash prices. When I got to the front to let them know what kind of car wash I wanted, was greeted instantly. Went in to pay for my wash and had to wait a bit because the cashier was talking about alcoholic drinks to another customer. I guess old people still know how to turn up. I was in and out of there in about 30 minutes. I can't say it was the best job because there were some water spots on my back passenger window but I am so very happy that they didn't leave my windshield wipers on. Big pet peeve when your car is nice and clean and you are ready to drive off and you start your car and boom!...
