For my 40th birthday, my boyfriend booked me a blowout on Feb. 24th. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited in line. When I approached to check in, the lady did not say anything to me - so I spoke first and said I was checking in for my 11AM. The first thing she said to me was that my hair was "probably" to my bra strap (it was in a bun btw), so there would be an additional charge. After a few minutes of clicking and staring at the screen, she then told me that I have to pay upfront bc my name was not on the room. My name WAS on the room and I gently corrected her, but she held her ground. I have social anxiety, so rather than going back and forth, I explained that I did not have my phone or wallet (I had just come from the spa upstairs) and then asked if I could use the phone to call my BF so he could come back down and handle it. She told me NO. I felt humiliated and stranded. Fortunately, right at this moment of panic, a friendly French(?) woman at the other end of the counter interrupted because she was looking for me - she had just called my room to see where I was and spoke to my BF. She called my name out and quickly noticed I was there at the counter already. She then instructed me to have a seat and wait for Jared to come get me. When that happened, the difficult lady said nothing. She just ignored me. And as it turns out, I did not have to pay upfront bc my name was on the room. But wait- there's more! When Jared did my blowout, he was so rude! He barely spoke 5 words to me the whole time - not kidding. I told him I had never had a blowout before and that I just wanted a voluminous, fresh style. He acted aggravated and said it was impossible to give me volume because I do not have layers. Yet 2 days prior, I got 7 inches cut off and added layers and face framing. So, I have no idea what he was talking about. He harshly yanked my head around and ripped through my hair, he didn't try to talk to me at all (he never even knew it was my bday), and he wouldn't even lift the chair up so I could see myself in the mirror after we were done. It was so uncomfortable and I felt like an unwelcome guest the whole time. I think Jared was rude to me bc he thought I was late - but really I was early and the lady held me up at the counter. In his defense, the blowout looked great, so he is talented. Overall, the salon was a total let down and very sad experience - definitely not worth the cost we paid that day. Skip it and head to the...

I booked a similar 50 minute Custom Massage at Aria in December 2021 and my, were my two experiences worlds apart. I regret straying from Aria. For the same treatment cost, I get access to a salt room, stone beds, AND a plunge pool. Bellagio has none of these three.
• I did not book hot stones--don't know what I could've said that was misconstrued as "hot stones add-on please" when I booked my treatment at the downstairs retail desk. The several charges to correct my payment showed up as a mess on my hotel statement. +$204 -$204 +$80 -$42 +$246????? • I was collected from the lounge waiting room for my 5pm appointment at 5:20pm. When I walked to the front desk seeking an explanation after my treatment, the spa manager said that another patron had answered to my name when the massage therapist (MT) called, hence the scramble to find a backfill. • MT did not ask how the pressure was at all during my treatment; I had to speak up twice to ask for an increase in pressure--surprising because the MT mentioned they usually do male clients. Maybe there was an implicit bias that because I'm petite, less pressure was needed. I didn't book a Swedish massage for relaxation; I booked a custom and specifically mentioned tension in my neck and shoulders. If I want a light leg massage, I'll save my money and ask my partner to give me a massage at home. • My 50 minute massage was NOT THE FULL DURATION. I asked my MT for the time both walking to the room ("it's 5:20") as well after they washed their hands ("it's 6:05"). Absolutely unacceptable, because it was not my fault that my treatment started late. • The sound of my MT's fingers cracking continually during my massage was distracting. • I implore the staff to take a page from Melvin Thompson's technique over at Aria. Now HE provides a professional, therapeutic treatment worth $200 and then some. • The four heated whirlpools feel more or less the same temperature. Please consider changing one of them to a cold plunge pool.
I was offered a 20% partial refund and asked for 25%. I should've asked for more; the amount that my blood pressure conceivably rose as I reflected on all the ways my spa experience was wrong throughout the duration of my treatment is worth more than 25%. Safe to say, I was not relaxed and invigorated for my red-eye...
Read moreWe scheduled a massage and pedicure for my wife weeks in advance of our stay at the Bellagio. The Bellagio is great - but the customer service at the spa is terrible.
Today, we walked down to the spa 7 minutes before her appointment. There's a big check-in desk on the 1st floor, but it's only for the salon. It's not very clear where you check-in for either the salon or the spa, no signs at the desk, and there's people waiting in the lobby implying check-in is downstairs. Anyway, after waiting 10 minutes somebody finally showed up and directed her to check-in upstairs. She arrived upstairs and was immediately told that she can't get the full massage because she's 3 minutes late - a delay created by their inefficiency.
She got changed and after waiting for 15 minutes, it became obviously clear that they had either double booked the time slot or the masseuse was absent. The staff failed to update her so she had to inquire about the delay. They told her that they could only reschedule the massage hours later in the day - which wouldn't work because we had tickets to an afternoon show. Then they told her that because she hadn't provided 4 hours of advance notice before a cancellation that she would have to pay the complete price of the message. Of course, she disagreed - however the front desk staff seemed dedicated to charging her for a service they had not provided due to a failure of their scheduling/staffing. At this point, other people waiting area actually began to complain about the staff members and asked the manger to come out. Think about that - the behavior of the staff was so bad that the entire group in the waiting area became upset.
Anyway, my wife begins to get changed, and the manager comes out and tries to speak with her AS SHE'S GETTING CHANGED - she was half-naked! She actually had to tell them to wait while until she was finished putting her clothes back on - ridiculous, unprofessional, and quite frankly, a little disgusting. Realizing they had made a series of mistakes, the manager agreed that she wouldn't be charged. The total delay by this point was about 45 minutes. No sincere offers or sincere apologies from any of the staff.
The pedicure was...
