Sally and Ned are the epitome of what it means to be entertainers. Letās start with Ned. Not only does he play the piano beautifully and masterfully; Ned fills the role of Richard Carpenter perfectly!!! Heās got the mannerisms and personality down pat (not to mention) the way he harmonizes with Sally. Which leads me to the other half of Carpenters Legacy, Sally Olson. What can I say? Sally looks and sounds hauntingly close to āKaren Carpenter.ā Anybody else whom finds it necessity to disagree with that statement needs their ears and eyes checked (perhaps a psychological evaluation). Not only does Sally have the looks and voice; she also possesses what I think was Karens most important trait. Sally is kind-hearted (I happen to be speaking from experience). If you know her youād know what Iām talking about. Those who feel the need to attack her or āCarpenters Legacyā (in general) should be ashamed of themselves. Itās disgusting that people can hide behinds their screens degrading and defaming someoneās character and careerā¦ā¦although I shouldnāt be surprised (after-all) itās those types of people that led Karen to her demise. If you are a real Carpenters fan you would certainly enjoy Sally and Nedās show. Itās cool how their show is āA Recreation Of The Carpenters 1976 UK Tour.ā Iām grateful for this type of show because it provides an opportunity for a young Carpenters fan like me (born 2005) a chance to get an idea of what a 1976 Carpenters show would have been like. Thank You, Sally and Ned for your continued preservation of the Carpenters legacy and keep up the superb work!!! P.S. Pay no mind to the trollsā¦THE GOOD GUYS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to see Carpenters Legacy in Las Vegas, and it turned out to be one of the best shows Iāve seen in a long time. From the opening number, it pulled me in.
Sally's vocals were beautifulāsmooth, warm, and so close to what made Karen Carpenterās voice unforgettable. At the same time, the performance didnāt feel like an imitation. It had its own spark and energy, which made it special.
The little touches made a big difference. Ned sounded amazing on the piano, the harmonies were on point, and the stage presence felt natural, not forced. You could tell the performers genuinely cared about the music. During many songs, I noticed so many people singing along, and that pretty much summed up the atmosphere in the roomāpure connection.
For me, the sincerity was the highlight. The show wasnāt about trying to copy every note; it was about celebrating the Carpenters and reminding us why their music still matters. I walked out humming the songs, and honestly, Iāve been playing them again at home since.
If you find yourself in Las Vegas and love great live music, this is a show Iād highly recommend. Itās heartfelt, fun, and a wonderful way to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was the first out of the theatre to greet Sally (Karen). I told her I had a compliment that sounds like insult. The show made me feel a little creepy. Iām not sure how she took it, āso you meant creepy in a good wayā she said.
There are videos playing behind the performers, some with the exact songs being performed, almost in sync. Itās like there were ghosts on the stage. The authenticity is mind boggling.
I loved the Carpenters as a child and for the rest of my life, always taken back with Karenās voice, It really felt like she was there.
This theatre is not your typical over the top Vegas venue. Itās old and worn and a little hard to get to, but I was there for the music and loved it.
